This is a fascinating look at one small - but important - island within the fantasy world of Aeryth. Rather oddly, however, it begins with a general discussion of languages and calendars that applies to the world as a whole rather than to the island for which this product is supposed to be a guide...

... but then it settles down for a thorough look at the Isle of Magravaine. Its importance is due to it being the home of the church-sponsored Arcane Collegium, a prestigious school of magic where the brightest and best learn their trade. It's a small island and thoroughly multicultural, the Collegium draws scholars (and others) from all over the world. It suffers from the common small island problem, overcrowding, and has dealt with that by requiring all residents to be either in employment, in training or... gone. They're quite benevolent and people who do not have work are offered an apprenticeship to give them a trade before they are then 'assisted' to leave (with free passage and a generous settlement grant, so it's not all bad!). Looking at the map, it's clear that there isn't much room so such severe measures are necessary.

Even if you are not using the Epic of Aeryth as a whole, this could make a valuable addition to your world if you allow mages to study in organised institutions rather than (or as well as) apprenticing to an older and more experienced mage. It is nicely-detailed and could be retooled easily to fit in to an existing campaign setting.

Thanks Megan for the review! I was worried about including the general information at the start, i didnt want it to be thought that i was just throwing random fluff into the pdf to pad it, but i was torn between that and just providing a little bit extra. I agree with your view completely however now that ive really thought about it. Im new to the online publishing deal and its good to have such feedback so i can improve :) I think in the future i will not include the General info in my N series for the Nations. Thank you so very much again! Darrell Ridley
