Zombie Run (Savage tale #6) (Avaliable at www.rpgnow.com as a PDF download) and perhaps other places.
Zombie run is a 42 page mini campaign using the Savage Worlds rules set. It is set in the near future a few months after the dead rise and decide to eat the living. Society collapses as the undead numbers grow as it is highly infectious and people being people some take advantage of the situation and become looters and raiders. All this in the first page, plus with some theories of what started it all. Though as it says in the text the players need never find out why started it, as they are too busy surviving.
A handful of new edges and equipment rules are then presented. All seem to be well thought out. Some basic rules on fuel consumption, which are well done. Something quick and not involving lots of bookkeeping but keeping the hunt for fuel on the forefront of the PC?s minds.
Starting equipment is in my opinion done well with the PC?s drawing two random playing cards and starting with the equipment listed on a table. Makes them desperate to start with, which is good in my book.
Then off to the adventure/mini campaign. It is basically a road trip for the first half travelling across America, being Savage worlds of course the PC?s can have a lot of other survivors with them to help and to hinder, which I think adds to the genre a bit. Plus it allows the GM to throw hordes of undead after the party instead of the usually half dozen or so. The second half involves them in a ?dispute? between to surviving enclaves which can end very badly for all involved. In-between this however is a great range of encounters and ideas for the GM to run the characters through as the try to survive their little jaunt from New York to Phoenix Arizona across a zombie infested America. Think Mad Max2 crossed with 28 Days later and Countless zombie flicks and you?ve got the makings of a great campaign. It even involves a large battle ( Using the Savage Worlds rules for such things).
As an added bonus there are maps of locations and some Zombie figure flats as well that can be printed out.
Overall worth the $6.96 USD I paid. Was presented well, not overloaded with artwork and that which was in it was relevant, no spelling or editing errors that I picked up on the first read. This mini campaign could easily be converted to system of choice. I highly recommend it for a change of pace campaign between longer games.
