This pdf is 4 pages long, 1 page front cover, 1 page SRD, leaving us with 2 pages of content, so let#s check this out!

Following the premise of the line, the pdf begins by providing 4 new feats to modify the deep slumber spell:

-Dead Slumber: +2 HD for sleep and deep slumber.

-Enchanted Slumber: This is roleplaying gold: Upon waking from magical sleep, you fall in love with the first being you see. GLORIOUS plot-device feat!

-Fitful Slumber: When a creature wakes from your spells, they are fatigued for a number of rounds equal to the number of rounds they slept.

-Suspended Slumber: You may opt to delay the onset of sleep up to 1 minute and then trigger sleep as a swift action. If you can't see the awesome tactical options this one has as well as the glorious narrative potential, I can't help you. Two thumbs up!

As with the web-shelter-pdf, we get 4 rather interesting, well-written adventure-hooks, all of which I can see being used. Neat!

The second page is taken up by a new monster, the CR 7 Wukwuk, an avian race of humanoids that feasts on dreams and may warble you into sleep. Also rather cool: It's harder to sneak past sleeping wukwuk than to pass those that are wide awake. A cool creature with an ok original artwork, which for this price-point is neat indeed, though it probably won't get you excited.

Conclusion: Editing and formatting are top-notch, I didn't notice any glitches. Layout adheres to Abandoned Art's 2-column standard in full color and adheres to the landscape standard. The pdf has no bookmarks and needs none at this length. 2 ok feats, 2 superb ones, 4 awesome hooks and a neat creature for the low price - this pdf sticks to the high standard established by the first Spell Power-pdf: A solid, nice pdf with cool options and an easy 5 star-rating for the very humane price.

Endzeitgeist out.

A new series for those who take their spellcasting very, very seriously...

In the first of this series, the focus is on the sleep and deep slumber spells. The content provided are four feats, some plot hooks and a monster, all in some way related to the featured spells.

The feats are for those who either don't care for metamagic or who want to focus their abilities more closely on sleep and deep slumber spells. A note says that using such feats makes it harder for an observer to use Spellcraft to identify what spell is being cast - although your target suddenly nodding off in circumstances where he'd normally be paying attention to whatever's going on is a bit of a give-away. The feats are dead slumber (which allows you to target an extra few HD of target), enchanted slumber (your target falls for the first person they see on awakening), fitful slumber (targets are fatigued when they wake up) and suspended slumber (which doesn't take effect straight off but after a short delay). Plenty of scope for some innovative spell-casting there!

The plot hooks likewise involve the use of sleep/deep slumber spells in creative ways, from traps and tradecraft to protecting young children from neighbourhood horrors... most could be used as the basis of a complete mystery-style adventure for the characters to solve. Or perhaps they might spawn ideas in those who use the spells in other things that they can do with them.

A neat little themed bundle, with scope for making a fairly common and mundane spell a bit more interesting.
