This one is an instant hit for me!
You see, I like my food... and when role-playing, so do most of my characters, to the extent that they often take on the role of party cook (I even have a major cook NPC who has shown up in several games that I have run over the years!).
Now, being a foodie I can happily rattle off the recipe that my character is cooking... but when operating in an 'alternate reality' it somehow seems wrong to describe a Spaghetti Bolognese in a world that doesn't even have an Italy! It can be fun to come up with fantastical food items but once your fellow characters start asking what's for dinner it can be quite a struggle, too.
So, the next feast will be (rolls her percentage dice), um, a salad of Bannera (aromatic salty green tendrils) with Pyramid Nuts and Belacanda beans with a roast of whatever the party archer knocked over for me, with a dessert of Heaven Melons with Planes Apple ice cream!
They'll work equally well for my starship cooks too! Feast on...
