MechaForce Tactical Combat Game
Publisher: Robertson Games

As a longtime BattleTech fan Mecha Force hits the spot. This game is super rules light, and it does the genre well in just a couple pages. It even fixes one oddity of BattleTech. Mecha Force ballistic weapons have the bigger ones out range the smaller one, as it should be. The only change I would make is to add power armor infantry to the game's Conventional Forces.

Kogarashi

I was on a hunt for Samurai RPG's and looked at at least a dozen or more games. Kogarashi became my winner in the end.

I love it for being rules light, customizable martial classes, having more than just 4 classes, and non-Vancian/spell slot magic system (it is a skill check).

I also really love the ASCII inspired layout of the charts and graphs. That was fun to look at. However, the actual printed art is drop dead gorgeous. A few are anime with big eyes and small mouth, but they're highly detailed anime. Most are NOT anime, though.

The inclusion of a basic set of solo rules was the icing on the cake, and I often play rules lite games solo these days.

I HIGHLY recommend Kogarashi to anybody who likes Samurai, Ninjas, and Oni Demons as their game setting.

RPGPundit Presents #100: Star Adventurer
Publisher: Spectre Press

This is a good game. I am normally not a fan of D&D style rules, but Star Adventurer fixes a lot of what I dislike. I like the hit point progression being flattened out to a single point per level for non-combat classes and 2 points per level for frontline classes. The random table for leveling up is really interesting. As is the "race" of your character being an archtype instead of a lengthy list of races and their modifiers. Overall, this is a tightly written and well thought out OSR game and well worth buying.
