I tested the basic edition of Awesomesauce with a friend this weekend, and it was a huge hit. This edition adds a few simple ideas to the basic game, making things even more awesome without weighing things down too much. This game is all about imagination and freedom, so it relies a lot on the players and the GM to have a lot of the former and to be able to deal with a lot of the latter. For example, to create a new character, you simply name them, and the only stat they have is "Awesomesauce 1." That's it. Now, play the game. What your character can do with that one stat depends on what you said they were; a barbarian, a wizard, a robot, Indiana Jones, whatever. For someone like me, and (some) of my friends, this is the best system for our time-crunch laden adult lives. No pages and pages of rules to leaf through, no "does that bonus stack with this one?" questions, no "do you have a feat for that?" nonsense. Just pure, crazy, unfettered fun. Get it. It's free. And play it. (Heck, I wrote an intro scenario by drawing a primitive map of one dungeon room in 5 minutes and freestyling from there. It was great.)
