I really wanted to give this map a 5 as I am in a 5th Century adventure and it would be very useful to me. But it shows Stonehenge much to far west and that was as far as I got in fact checking. Over all it looks a very pretty map but I am doubtful of the real world location of places now and probably only of use to players and referees that don't really care about the correct location of places.

Beautifully laid out with evocative line art pictures. All black and white images, except the cover, so you won't waste expensive ink printing it. There is no irritating images behind the text making it hard to read on your tablet or a low res print outs. The text size is very readable on my android tablet. The pdf has useful bookmark, contents and page links, which go the correct place. I printed it on my 600dpi laser printer at 2up A5 size and it look wonderful, crisp and legible. I have not spotted and spelling or grammar mistakes so far, unlike in previous versions from else where. There have been many enhancement and improvements to the rules, some of them like the new difficultly rules may be controversial with some but work well in practice. The minor changes to combat create great effects like, spears being useful and dangerous, unlike in other game systems.

The adventure here follow a similar style as in the core book. Work well a part from the fact that my 5 year old made sure the wizard was dead in the core adventure and I had to do some fancy foot work to allow him to be alive again (it would have been nice to have known that in the core adventure). Excellent, can we have more ... please ... (grin)

I played this with our 5 year old over the weekend. He looked after 4 characters and I did the GMing. We both had a brilliant time and he did not want to stop playing it. The rpg rules themselves need some work to make them clearer to read as to be realistic you will have to scan them very quickly as you are controlling several kids. Larger bullet points of just the important stuff would have helped. You could nt just give this to kids as there are a ot of assumptions which only a adult rpg player would know what to do with. The adventures themselves are cool but it did take me a while to realize the the first part of the adventure you are meant to role play with your child. Over all excellent fun and I liked the pre done floor plans a lot.

GM advise can be very hit or miss and John Wick's stuff is the same. That being understood, this is one of the best reads I have had for some time. It is witty and clever, some of the advise you can even use. It has been a while since I read a book from cover to cover in one sitting and if I had not had a four year old to deal with, I would have. Excellent book, would recommend it to any referee that is feeling a bit jaded and needs a reboot as an essential read.
