I liked Polaris quite a lot : the game system is original, no MJ and almost no dice roll. The book in itself is pleasant to read, I felt touched by the fate of the city of Polaris, its people and its knights. It is an original set up, with a fairy tale flavor that I've rarely seen.
On top of that, I've played it at 5 (while the game is initialy thought for 4 players, with a suggestion of adaptation for 5 or 3), and with a friend that had never done any RPG and it worked flawlessly, everyone having fun since there is no math involved, not a lot of rules to remember, and the background is easy to grasp and 'customize'.
There are a few downsides though ; I feel like the description of Polaris and its surroundings would have needed a bit more details... Even though the objective is for the players to build their own world, I felt a little lost at first since none of the players had a clear idea of what the place looked like (it got better after a few of us started describing builings, areas, etc).
Also, the rules are not explained as clearly as possible while reading the book, e.g. some keywords being detailed after their first appearance in the text (as a disclaimer though I am not a native english speaker, which made it harder to understand what I was reading).
Overall, I had a really good time with this game & recommend it.
