Here's an intriguing product that I wish I could put in a palm-pilot
and take it to my roleplaying sessions. Generic enough to roll up
really really odd creatures (spell-casting dinosaurs, natch.)
Note that in the help section, the article about combat is not correct
about the numbers, but this is easily correctable by reading the
"Fudge in a Nutshell" or the Fudge 10th Anniversary Edition.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Acceptable<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Like a lot of other people, I'd rather spend my time on creative stuff rather than number crunching or character creation. I love the book A Magical Society: Beast Builder by Expeditious Retreat Press, and thought the generator was a good idea.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: It allows the user to come up with monsters rather quickly, and creates usable stat blocks.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: I'd have liked to see more options available for selection, such as allowing the user to define the size of the creature, or whether or not they have extraordinary, spell-like, or supernatural abilities.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

This wasn't very useful. I'd recommend you download Dungeon Crafter or the evaluation version of Gridsmith instead, they both have a wider range of features, better-looking tiles, and are free.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Nothing.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: Poor looking tiles, no save facility.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Poor<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Ripped Off<br>

I found this little product very useful. My only complaint is that I'd like to be able to define something as being more rare, or more common, so it's not completely evenly spaced. Still, this does the job I don't want to, and was well worth the price.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Very Good<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Satisfied<br>

Overall it's a nice program. For the price, it's a fantastic program. Rather than place tiny squares, I can place whole tiles and have a map done very quickly.<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: The black and white classic dungeon tiles reminded me of playing the temple of elemental evil for dnd years ago.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: A save feature and a few more tiles would be nice.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

A comphrehensive GM tool that is very effective when combined with the free add-ons. Will make you want to Use Fudge for all your games and have a PC at every gaming session.
<br><br><b>LIKED</b>: Easy to use and customize. Makes the process of using the FUDGE system so much more enjoyable.<br><br><b>DISLIKED</b>: A few more details in the instructions would have been helpful.<br><br><b>QUALITY</b>: Excellent<br><br><b>VALUE</b>: Very Satisfied<br>

My generators work great! An endless supply of fudge stats and bizarre creature names. I'd give it a five if it included treasure or items.

If anyone ever has a technical problem, please contact the programmer (doctorjeff98@msn.com) for assistance. The only reason that the program might not function in a standards-based browser (basically any modern browser) is if the user has Javascript-Turned Off or Disabled in the user's settings. |

I was hesitant to buy this after reading a 1 star review. But I'm glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised with the amount of information packed into this baby. I particularly liked the list of over 600 medieval professions and some of the obscure lists like "indefinite quantities" and "type of currency." As an experienced campaign planner, I already have tons of new ideas for directions in which to take my campaign.

You have to be kidding, right? I'm a fan of general tables, randomizers and all kinds of generators - I've programmed a few myself - but this has got to be a joke.
Without instructions or even some kind of hint on how to apply the results I don't see how these generators can be of much use. I'm sorry but if you're not a DM desperate for random inspiration, I can't possibly recommend this product. Avoid!

just what I was looking for! Thank you so much....The only addition I'd like to see is the quality of the land so we know if it's likely to improve or lose value over the years.

I admit it, I am lazy. The MMS: WE book and pdf are both excellent, but being able to come up with the numbers from the information using the Medieval Society Generator comes in handy.
Especially when I'm working on a document and need to create some numbers that make sense, using the Generator saves me time.
The price isn't bad, since I was more than willing to pay it, but it could use a generator just for the number of buildings according to total population, not just for a specific section of a city or town and it should include, thorps, hamlets and villages.
