Two great products! I have used the Modern version for both my Modern games and Deeds not Words. They work well with both games and can give a GM something great to work with. Muahhahhaaahahaaaa

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Satisfied
A prime resource for goodies for a modern game that includes magic. I am making up a new campaign that will include lots of these, and my players won't know what hit 'em.

LIKED: There are lots of different items, not just a couple of dozen.

DISLIKED: The spells used to create the items are not listed. With over 200 items, it would be too much work to do it all myself.

QUALITY: Very Good

VALUE: Very Satisfied
Simple and useful. Thaumatech contains about 200+ items. Great resource for high-FX or very low-FX. I'd call it a "must have" resource for a long campaign.
Good layout with both screen and print versions available. Well organized and game-balanced.
No much art, but great content.

This book is excellent! We use it in all our Modern games name and even introduced it to some of our existing games.

An excellent resource for an Urban Arcana style campaign. It has some great magic items.

I realy like the "Plug N Play" feel of this book. It's very easy to insert the Distinctions (perks) & Drawbacks (flaws) into the D20M framework. It does this without altering the rules or forcing the GM to have to work like mad to get them to fit in :)
Gotta love that!!

With the numerous physical, psychological, and other various "drawbacks" from which to choose, this suppliment can help encourage players to be more active role players. The benefits you gain from taking a drawbacks are well balanced with the distictions.

Nice tool. It fills a need left by the player's handbook. It's a great way to round out new characters and give them depth from the very beginning, which really aids in roleplay. I bought the edition before the "new and improved" version and was given a free update but I never got around to downloading new version before my link expired. Thus, while I can't speak for the newer version, one would assume it's even better than the one I bought.

Incredibly useful for making campaigns more interesting and creating more realistic heroes. Even more fun when you create adversaries with this material.

Pretty weak. Poor artwork. Poor execution. The idea is sound and with some expansion and a review of similar products- this could stand out. Perhaps a revision will come along.

One of the best purchases I have ever made for any d20 line. This book really, really deserves to be integrated into any d20 Modern, Spycraft, M&M, etc campaign. I found it extremely well written, well balanced and well produced.
Providing a mechanics driven system for making their characters more distinctive really seemed to inspire my players to make more interesting PCs. Of course, some GM supervision is required.
I highly recommend this product as being an outstanding product from an outstanding company. Quality, through and through.

Thorough is the first word that comes to mind when I think of this product. The book authoritatively covers a D&D style of modern magical gadgets that range from deadly to nifty. The items appear to have been balanced well against one another and the layout of the book is very professional, if a bit dense. However, density of content is a complaint you don?t often get to make with PDFs, so I can hardly call that a fault.
Thaumatech: Modern Magic Items only falls short of a perfect rating because, in my opinion, it lacks a bit in campaign hooks and scenarios for integrating these items with your D20 Modern campaign.
All in all, a solid offering that is well worth the price.

Really interesting stuff in here, but has the potential to heavily munchkin-ize your campaign.
