This product does provide some figures from an area that tends to be lacking in quality figures and does come up with providing some nice artwork for a few figures. That being said, please beware about what you are paying for.

There are actually only 7 figures provided totalling 41 pirates on 4 sheets of cardstock. They include a Captain with a hook and red beard standing with one foot on a treasure chest as seen on the cover like Captain Morgan advertisements and 5 of these figures are in a variety of colored clothes and two are also reversed. A second figure is the peglegged pirate with the parrot also on the cover and there are 8 versions of him with a variety of colored clothes, different weapons and reversed poses. A third pirate is the figure on the cover hanging on the rope in 5 versions of different clothes, weapons and reversed. A 4th pirate is digging a hole in the sand and has 4 versions of clothes, 2 are reversed. A 5th pirate is from the barbary coast with a harpoon, there are 4 versions, one with a chest and one with a shield and both reversed with different colored clothes. A 6th pirate is standing and firing either a matchlock or blunderbuss and their are 5 versions of him in different colored clothes and reversed. The 7th Pirate has 10 versions with different weapons, clothes and reversed. And 2 of them are even carrying pirate flags. The nice thing is that 8 different additional flags are provided that you could glue over these to create different pirate groups. Other extras include 5 shields, a large flag on a stand, 4 signs, 2 chests, and 1 set of 3 barrels. these are all flat with both front and back standing up like the figures, not the same as 3d props from other suppliers. These are all printed on 4 sheets and the props are intermixed with the figures so you have to use 4 sheets of cardstock to get all the figures. Although the artwork is very nice, I find that for the same price I can get a lot more variation of figures with the Disposable Heroes sets 24 and 26 from Precis Intermedia and I personally prefer those. However, If this is what you want or you already have some Pirates and need more and you don't mind what seems to be a higher price for what you're getting then this is still a very nice set to get.

A beautiful set of paper figures in a very detailed style. You can use them to make command and infantry units for a great elven army...

Another gorgeous set by PERMES.

Well-colored, highly detailed, with many figures' variants. With the next two sets there will benot only a pirate crew but the entire Tortuga.

However I hope that in future PERMES give us also some pirates' enemies.

A set of figures that allows everyone to sample the beautiful art from PERMES: incredibly detailed and expressive. The thin internal lines and thick outlines mean that you can also print them at a reduced scale while keeping the high quality (should you need a 15mm army, for instance.)

Beautifully drawn images... Incredible figures... and an unheard of 100+ figures and scenery all laid out in a well-designed format. Better yet, it is less than $5.00 USD. If you haven't picked this up yet, my question for you is "Why haven't you?"

This set is a wonderful example fo the remarkable talent that PERMES has. If you download this set, you can see for yourself how well the figures are designed and laid out. The colors are vivid and the artwork is top-notch.

Another astonishing set from Permes, with this and the elves I can stage some skirmishes between the short grumpy fellows and the lithe forest folks. I could have used the riflemen with different weapons (longer barrelled rifles and short arquebuses, for instance) but that's easy to kitbash.

An awesome set of paper models presented with great amount of detail and many options. Very nice to play skirmish games, RPGs or build dioramas.

Great artworks, drawings and colors, and very good subjects' variety.

What an AMAZING set! This set brings the feel of the comic-book style of art I grew up with.

It is great to see squads of soldiers (or achers in this case) with various color options to either represent one figure in 5 separate levels (in a game format that might allow you advancement), or simply 5 warriors in a squad, each with their own style. This also give you the options of printing several pages to build entire squads in one separate color, to help with damage and unit tracking in large-scale games.

Aside from some of the most beautiful artwork in minitaures I have seen to date, this set also includes various terrain pieces, and even a few weapon and shield options.

I would have liked to have seen the larger shields be set up more like the bucklers. A fold-over version on the larger shields would have made it easier to assemble them. Perhaps by sacrificing a few color options, you could lay this out to give each shiled front a back that is able to be lined up and trimmed easier.

Even with that minor "flaw" (read as: personal preference), I could not give this set ANYTHING else but 5/5stars! Absolutely BRILLIANT!

Permes, the Polish based publisher has thousands of beautifully crafted cardboard figures in non-garish colours in their inventory. This Set, part of their World of Fantasy Range, highlights the gorgeously coloured and outfitted Wood Elf Warriors in ambush. It provides more figures than my card table can accommodate, but they are so useful, not just for Fantasy Wargaming, but Fantasy Roleplaying too. With scenery they will make up as lovely dioramas too. All figures have good poses. There is a fair variety of figures including specialists. I look forward to gaming with them.

Not being a Polish speaker, I am very glad that the rest of these products will, hopefully, be available in DriveThruRPG. These are Elves, but the Polish site has Dwarves, Monsters, Fantasy armies, Roman, Persians, Greek, Dark Ages and Medieval, Renaissance, some Napoleonic, Wild West, Samurai, Swashbucklers and Pirates, and other assorted offerings. I wish Permes Carboard Models well.

Because only a very great artist, starting with five figures, can provide forty wonderful paper miniatures. All different. Great drawn, a lot of details, a rainbow of colors, addable accessories for more changes ...
