I know that the author has a lot of experience playing solo RPG's, and has used many random tables, and understands a lot better than I do which types of tables work best for popular playstyles / systems.
However, in my opinion, I found the list impressively extensive but overly specific entry to entry, with the logic behind the use of the system being quarter-baked. I understand he is working on starting his venture and is working tirelessly on multiple new products, and has very specifically mentioned many times this is meant to be a live document, where he is planning on updating it and improving it. So it makes sense that he is putting this out to get a start and will continue to build as time goes on. Im happy to be a part of supporting his hard work.
But with the amount of specificity in each entry for each table, the endless variations of these very specific entries.. and the layout.. It just seems like logically, the work it would take to manually create all of this by archive, experience, imagination, logic and by hand vs. the amount of effort put into the layout and overall purpose of the document doesn't totally add up for me. Has he used these specific entries over time and just copied and pasted his archives? Did he use a successful method to make the most efficient format for him to make the best possible version #1 of the product, or did he use a random generator to create the entries?
I don't want to make any assumptions but it just feels like the only way this product would make sense to create as a solo developer is if it's been randomly generated or automated in some way.. Maybe that's blasphemous to say. Just how I feel as a newcomer.
Based on his level of experience and how long he's been a member that's likely not the case. Super looking forward to seeing this extensive list of tables come to life as he updates the file.
Best wishes and support for your efforts in starting this venture, and the many obstacles you've overcome and those that are still to come. I was happy to purchase the product and look forward to what comes of your plans, strategy and hard work.
Cheers!
