Love this game. When playing an indestructible superhero just feels boring, look to Zweihander! The whole ‘survivor’ angle is brilliant and gives the game so much more depth. So, strap on that mortis sword, grab a shield and a helmet, then dive in.
You won’t regret it!

Zweihander: Reforged is a compelling game that inspires creativity, whether it be as the game master or player.

Zweihander Reforged is an amazing update to the classis d100 ruleset from the OG Zweihander/Main Gauche. It streamlines some rules and gameplay, adds new features such as new and expanded ancestries, campaign seeds and an intro scenario. Also its much more streamlined which helps make it easier to process such a massive tome. Given the amount of content, its almost impossible to ever have two groups that feel the same and the possible character builds are endless.
If you like dark fantasy titles such as Berserk, the Witcher, Darkest Dungeon, etc then you will enjoy Zweihander.

Grim, perilous survival horror. The reforged edition is streamlined and efficient. Combat, social interaction, travel and skills are fluid. Monsters are better balanced and easy to create. In fact, I find this game lends itself particularly well to "house rules." So well, that it's not really limited to survival horror; you can do heroic fantasy with it too. If you are looking for a game that enables you to really develop a character, rather than accumulate items, I highly recommend Zweihander Reforged. It is a breath of fresh air in a market dominated by dungeons.
Also, the artwork is inspiring!

This is a great edition of the game. They've cleaned up and simplified the rules and focused them more. It's perfect for any grim and gritty w/ capable characters setting. It's pretty far at this point from being a WFRP 2e clone. Would recommend

I love this new version as I did with the first one. But it is not only love for this game, the Reforged edition brings fresh air to some mechanics, making it better than the previous one in those areas wich were more tricky

Great update to Zweihander. Its a much easier read now, and it has a lot more of its own identity than before.

Zweihander Reforged is SO GOOD, a really great streamlining of the original rules. And I love Dejan Mandic's art, it brings it all together and gives the setting a singular, cohesive tone. Masterpiece!

If you like Grimdark, Zweihander is for you.
It's got murder, it's got heresy, it's got horror, what's not to like?
Zweihander: Reforged is an excellent d100 dark fantasy game, and would be a fine addition to any TTRPG collection

The newest edition of Zweihander is here! This is still the big, all-in-one book you remember. It's essentially a Players' Handbook, Bestiary, and GM's Guide, in one massive tome. And there's a full adventure included.
There are a lot of tweaks, and it's been streamlined to make it run quicker and more smoothly at the table.
There are several new Ancestries and Professions.
And the whole thing is back compatible with Revised.
If you've been a fan of Zweihander, Reforged continues the tradition of balance, fun, and quality seen in previous releases.
If you're new to Zweihander, this is the perfect place to start.
If you want dark fantasy with Magick and blackpowder, Zweihander is one of your best options. It's got balance, character options aplenty, and as much Grimdark as you could possibly want. All in a fine-tuned D100 system that's been meticulously balanced.
Check it out. You'll be glad you did.
P.S. The art by Dejan Mandic, always a standout feature, is great here. A mix of old and new pieces, it's atmospheric and awesome, in the best old-school fantasy horror tradition!

I've GM'd over a hundred sessions of Zwei/FoF. This update does incorporate the Flames of Freedom Fortune Coin rule, and makes a few useful changes, but it retains the awful 'one-size-fits-all' approach to weapons (all weapons do the same damage). The weapon listings include very poorly-researched (or poorly understood) listings, adding weapons several hundred years post-fantasy era.
Overall, this is little more than errata and some minor tweaking, plus a rather lame 'I almost died' approach to PC backgrounds. Its sad to see that Zweihander, which was groundbreaking in its day, has degenerated into just another pointless system.
