I played the game as a DM and then again as a player. Even when I knew the story it was sweet. It's not like a dungeon crawl or anything with a bunch of combat, it's almost all social interactions and 'skill challenges'. Might not be for you if you're super serious about classic dnd, but if your table is a little silly and likes to work outside the rules this is great.

Not a typical game, but if you read the description and understand what you're getting into, it's perfect for a table with natural entertainers. No reason not to try it, even our non musical friends made food and wrote a poem.

Mixture of rock and roll history and straight up fun. The game claims to be 6 hours or something but it can be stretched to about 10, which I did. Map is super cool too.

The most unique adventure I've ever played. I had no idea what to expect when our DM told us to share our talents, and it paid off. I didn't even know some of my friends were so talented. I could play this game again 20 times.

A quality, story-focused adventure with a loose dungeon crawl type feel to it. Not really a true dungeon crawl, but that can be one of it's strengths. Instead of wandering loosely through a maze of puzzles and combat, it guides you through a detailed setting full of interesting characters that reveals itself the further the party explores. It gives ample opportunity for players to extend the session with roleplaying and backstory if they choose to investigate the underground colony they'll discover to its fullest.

Good game, a little on the easy side. I would recommend for tables that like role playing and fun, but maybe not so much for a group that wants a super challenging and serious classic dnd experience. I'd play again at my table.

My favorite game from this author. The party got to customize the library which took like half the game. Final fight was brutal and we maybe killed the entire city... but I guess we'll see!

Takes place in sewers and fight mushroom people. My DM ran this game and I only read it, but it's pretty funny. There's a political component to it and like the last game in the series, combat seems pretty optional.

Cool sequel. It's different in style to the first one, this is more of a classic dungeon crawl but the same levity. Hope they come out with vol 3 soon otherwise I'll have to make my own to close the story out.

There's so many extras included in this. They give you a suggested drink recipes, NPC cards, and the game in a ton of formats. It's all related to a simple but fun 4ish hour game. The stakes are pretty low and players don't find themselves in real danger, but it worked well for what it wanted to be.

I DM'd for my kids and their friends and they completely loved it. I was planning on running in two sessions in case the kids lost focus (they're 11-13) but they wanted to play all the way to the end in one sitting. Tons of role playing opportunities for NPCs so the game can be extended or shortened pretty easily.

Cool way to use standard rules and make it work while players play as living ornaments, toy story style. All the combat I saw was non violent, but still uses the mechanics, so it played pretty ligthhearted. I'd like to find someone who can DM it so I can play some time.

Played this in prerelease and it absolutely rocks. If you're trying to show someone how new to the game how it should works, this is perfect. I'll DM it next time for my buddies and probably play it again next Christmas.

A charming Christmas adventure. The characters and plot have a wholesome vibe which meshes well with the theme but are unique enough to not feel bland. The structure is a bit direct but because it opens with such a clear goal, you hardly notice while playing. It helps to keep the party focused when trying to keep play time under control. Because of this, I think it works great as a one-off game during a party when your friends are in town for the holidays or if you want to introduce your family to the game but is still enjoyable even for veteran players who want to try something different. Honestly, seems great to use as an introduction to DnD especially because of the included pre-made character sheets which save a lot of time and headaches when showing somehow how to play for the first time. A great excuse to get your siblings or parents or nieces and nephews to try out roleplaying with you.

Like the fun and odd premise with characters who seem unaware of the silliness of their roles. This adventure is great for starting an episodic campaign, but can also be used as a one-shot just as easy.
