I'm shocked by how good "Assignment: Danger" is!
It's listed as an espionage game but it's more of a general cinematic action RPG...It can do most everything action oriented. It is based on DM Scotty's EZD6 and can handle pulp action really well with karma points for failed rolls and exploding dice. This isn't your uber deadly OSR game. Although I love those, this is three PCs in a bar fight against twenty five Nazis taking out two or three Nazis with a single punch. It's standing on the wing of a airplane in mid air and shooting your pistol at terrorists. It's James Bond with a mini rocket launcher in his fountain pen. If you have seen it in an action movie, Assignment: Danger can do it which is amazing for such a rules lite game. With the optional sanity mechanics you can even run Call of Cthulhu or Delta Green scenarios with it.
I'll be running it as a WW2 Indiana Jones type game and it won't require any mods for that. If you want something wilder, it can also handle low power supers, psionics, androids, monsters...it's really flexible. The EZD6 system in general is very hackable, so pretty much anything extra you might need could be written up in minutes.
The mechanics are super easy to learn and character generation is quick...in short, if your players have ever played any other rpg
you can sit them down, explain the rules and be done with character creation and start playing in fifteen minutes. This is the ultimate beer and pretzels kind of game. Definitely worth checking out!
