Phenomenal supplement. I highly recommend. The items are not only creative, but add another level of intensity to the game!

We were offered the choice of classical races and this replacement in our group and everyone jumped on this. Why? Because it allows you to play the character you have in your mind, not just one of a couple premade races. The possiblities are nearly endless, at the same time the trinity of biology, culture and choice prevents from building anything that would unbalance the game. Of course, for the DM it can result in a bit more work as there are additional things that players might be able to do. On the other hand this can help in worldbuilding and creating your own npc races as well. Disclaimer: I got my copy for free

I am honored by the author in that the Rambling Bard subclass was inspired by me, but every class specialization in this supplement is incredibly creative and sound like a ton of fun to play. I look forward to trying out as many as I can in the coming years.

As someone who values roleplay over skills maxing(efficiency) this has really appealed to me. Rather than selecting your race (i prefer species) you select values and then rank them in order of how important they are to you. This in turn dictates "who" your character will be, rather than "what".

I love this twist, it might make you lean to a species you have never played before, or perhaps some homebrew species. This is a life journey, and I believe is a complete gamechanger to actually encourage people to role play more.
