Jon Hodgson Miniatures Backdrops Set Two
by A customer [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/24/2025 16:56:29

Very nice, really fills in a useful niche! Would like to see more PDF backgrounds from Jon, the printed books are beautiful but shipping from UK to Canada on A3 sized books is expensive.

As a topic suggestion - Sci-Fi skylines and cityscapes.

Jon Hodgson Miniatures Backdrops Set One
by A customer [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/24/2025 16:48:47

Really nice painterly backdrops. Printed a couple on plain paper for quick use but I'm also going to be buying some nice semi-gloss photo stock for even better backdrops.

Would be lovely to see more of these in PDF form, the printed books are awesome but S&H on a big A4 or A3 book from the UK is steep!

The Meat Spoiler Redux
by Harry [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 03/18/2025 12:50:09

Maskwitches is one of the most unique and interesting setting/game combinations that I've seen recently and the Meat Spoiler scenario book is a fantastic companion to the core setting/rule book.

It really helps bring the prehistoric setting of Forgotten Doggerland to life. It contains some great NPCs with personality and motivations, and helps give an outline for how a Maskwitch game can be prepared and explored. The scenario feels like a framework to guide improvisation, making a GM feel comfortable while leaving plenty of room for everyone involved to improvise and develop a unique collaborative story.

I love how friendly the introduction is too, helping guide a new GM into the style and feel of the game.

The Forest Dragon by Rory Card Game
by Bill [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/19/2024 08:50:54

This is a great family game to play with younger and older children. My kids played it all the time when they were in elementary school and now as teens still like to get it out. I recently loaned my copy to a friend to play with her daughters. They loved it but my teenage daughter begged me to get it back.

As far as the game goes, it’s a very simple set of rules, turn over cards to collect items from the forest, but don’t push your luck too much or you might face a monster. Will you be ready?

Wonderful game from a wonderful game company.

This is a fun expansion to the base game. I’ve played this game with my kids for years and now as teens they still love it. The base game is great and these expansions just add more fun. I highly recommend picking them up.

FiveEvil Splinters
by A customer [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/01/2024 13:03:03

There are plenty of titles out there that do 'Big Horror'. You know what I mean, the massive monsters/Gods or huge, sinister secret societies. What FiveEvil promises, based on Splinters, is to get you really feeling horror. That feeling you got when you watched 'Scream' and 'Hush' (or for those of you with a more vintage palate, Nigel Kneales "Beasts" series) and the unsettling awareness that this could happen to you on any normal day.

By using the 5e rules as a base and then taking them to places you never thought to look, the system should work for anyone who likes 5e but also for those of you that might have a few issues with it. It's clever and unexpected, much like the horror it's being implemented for.

Splinters is worth your time to read and I expect it will pique your interest enough to take a look at FiveEvil too.

Jon has hit gold dust again. A great resource for 5e fans to Spice Up Their....Gaming with making horror work better within it's rules set. Do check out the KS of the Hardback rules. Highly recommended

Really well-conceived mechanic for using 5e to do genuinely scary horror adventures. Even if you don't like 5e—I sure don't—or horror, some great ideas and design choices to grab.

Maskwitches of Forgotten Doggerland Redux
by Matthew [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 06/26/2024 06:09:45

What a fantastically, beautiful book Maskwitches is. This book expands The Silver Road RPG with stunning art, a whole slew of story and character ideas, and a mercifully simple system. Maskwitches sits somewhere between storytelling and roleplaying game, hitting a spot I really enjoy that's reminiscent of the creative freedom of Baron Munchausen and Dog Eat Dog with some of the meatier material from historic/folk horror and fantasy games like Solemn Vale and Age of Arthur. This book is a healthy 172 pages, which is remarkable given its low cost. I strongly encourage people to check it out.

Beautiful artwork, and great quality writing. The adventure is easliy adaptable, I am using it for a completly different game system and the story and GM instructions work as intended, so well that I am now considering buying the Beowulf base book.
