Choose Your Weapon
by Jeremy W. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 04/04/2022 14:05:41

A welcome simplification that removes the need to gate weapon access by making damage based on class and adjusting that by how many advantages/disadvantages a weapon has. The document even provides a table of existing weapons converted to the new system, as well as addresses subclasses and racial features that grant or modify weapons. There's even a page for what damage to assign to what sorts of enemies.

I'm particularly drawn to this product because it provides a way for characters who can only use natural weapons to stay on-par.

Wasteland Wanderers: Fifth Edition Player Options For Post-Apocalyptic Worlds
by Marco T. [Verified Purchaser] Date Added: 11/03/2021 02:04:18

I spent the last 2 years looking for a post-apocalyptic rpg that just had the right amount of rules and mechanics.

I'm proud to say that my search has ended with Wasteland Wanderers.

It runs on the D&D 5e system, a system that most gamers have played or DM'd. But it adds so much without overstuffing it.

An excellent addition to 5e. The gear involved can be cherry-picked for the style of campaign yuou are running, from Fallout to Gamma World.

Wasteland Wanderers: Fifth Edition Player Options For Post-Apocalyptic Worlds

A decent product; essentially takes core 5e classes and converts them to a non-magical post-apoc standard. They are ready to go, although since they are setting agnostic you may need to tweak them a touch to bring them in line with your setting. My only complaint is that the product is set up as landscape, which would make printing it unrewarding.

Wasteland Wanderers: Fifth Edition Player Options For Post-Apocalyptic Worlds

I absolutely love this guide. It does a great job reskinning the core classes, and does an exceptional job with the ranger and bard counterparts. I really feel the Scouts abilities should have been the ranger for the official 5e rulebooks, and provides a well balanced non-magic version to the ranger. The bards counterpart, the Shepard, Does a great job at converting a full level caster to a non-casting class. For player characters, this is a great way to play a charismatic based character without having to be a spell slinging, flute piping, lute strumming, song singing bard. Not that the bard was ever a bad class in 5e. It was just that, I felt the core book did not have enough martial classes, and this class guide really delivers.

The only thing that bugs me, and its my own personal quirk so don't let it discourage you from buying this amazing product, is that it was creating using landscape format. I mean if you used page view, it would be a lot easier for phone users to use. It would also be better for producing printed rulebooks.

I rate this product 10/10 star bottlecaps.Totally worth it. May I see you wastelanders in valhalla!!!

Thank you so much for this wonderful review, Hayden! The landscape format is aimed at improved reading on desktops, laptops, and tablets - on devices with large enough screens you can simply set the zoom level as appropriate to get the whole page on the screen, which is impossible to do with portrait pdfs, so you end up scrolling up and down as you move from column to column. Phone use is not a case I'd honestly considered! I probably do need to make a print-friendly version of my releases anyway, maybe when I get around to doing that I could put them in portrait format so there's an option for everyone.

Hayden - I just wanted to let you know that I released a version of the Scout intended for typical fantasy D&D. It's called the Explorer and can be found on DMsGuild!
