The Kingdom of Talingarde is the most noble, virtuous, peaceful nation in the known world. Herein is the story of how you burned this insipid paradise to the ground.

It's only fair. They burned you first.

They condemned you for your wicked deeds. They branded you. They shipped you to the worst prison in the kingdom. In three days, you die. In three days, the do-gooders pray they'll be rid of you.

They've given you three days. The fools, that's more than you need to break out. And then, it will be their turn to face the fire.

Welcome to the first chapter of the "Way of the Wicked" adventure path! Inside you'll find:

"Knot of Thorns," an adventure for 1st-5th level villains compatible with the Pathfinder Roleplaying Game by Gary McBride. Full color art and maps by Michael Clarke A gazetteer of brave, noble, doomed Talingarde Advice for running a successful villainous campaign Rules for creating wicked PCs The kick off to a 20-level adventure path of irredeemable villainy And more!

You've saved the world plenty.

This time, the world needs saving from you.

Don't buy this product. Gary McBride and Firemountain games scammed backers out of money for the Throne of Night book, and never delivered anything past the second book. Gary McBride refuses to communicate with anyone regarding the product he promised to deliver.

Well in addition the enworld review I mentioned in my first comment (see below) ... if you google "paizo store" "way of the wicked" and "fire mountain games" that should bring you to "way of the wicked book one knot of thorns" ... click on that , keep scrolling down in the comments and you'll see a longer, much better review than my own by Alzrius on there (Dark Mistress reposted it so look for her icon/username first) ..

I also forgot to mention in my first comment that you're definitely better off buying the modules one by one (so buy module one first AFTER checking out the free preview, then if you like that module two and so forth).. you don't save any money by buying these in a bundle and that way you can spend smaller amounts of money at each step as you play through them to see if you like it and if your players like it module by module (if your players get sick of running evil PC's for whatever reason say by the end of module two and you already bought...See more

Much to my surprise my favorite standby for reviews online - amazon - doesn't appear to have an entry for this product or if so not anymore.. if you google "enworld" and "way of the wicked fire mountain games" it gives a fairly in depth review - and apologies to Oscar E in that I'm posting this 3 years after his question :P but yes my purchase comes with both printer friendly and what I assume is "tablet friendly" (lower resolution) versions of the pdf as well as a player handout pdf ... I first heard about this on Fantasy Grounds and got curious and purchased it - love the story quality (which I can confirm remains great for all six modules from start to finish) and the art isn't too bad (it isn't "WOTC" level of artwork but not bad at all for what I'm guessing is a 3rd party smaller publisher). Note the free "Way of the Wicked Free Preview" which you should definitely download and check out before making any purchases.

Like any module...See more

!!!Attention please!!!

Gary McBride is a con man. He has and probably never had the intention to finish the Throne of Night Kickstarter. He missed the five-year finishing line on purpose. From the promised six books only two ever were published. He didn't react on emails for years but still sponsors projects on Kickstarter with his account. His old email address is dead now and his website is down.

I strongly suggest to not buy anything that has the names Gary McBride or Fire Mountain Games on it. And be careful what you backup on The least they could have done is to close Gary's account but they didn't even manage to do that. Seems all they care about is the money they get from the projects and nothing else.

Hello. I just need to know if the PDF comes with a printer friendly version. I've looked at the previews and I just don't see how they can print friendly without being formatted just for it.

Are there plans to put the whole series into one hardcover volume? Similar to what was done for Rise of the Runelords? I would think there would be a co market for this.

Haven't seen any one hardcover volume - I have seen print copies selling for ridiculous amounts of money on ebay though that I wouldn't pay in a million years :P ... probably best to have a tablet or laptop computer on hand if possible and just use that (and let's face it , pdf copies of gaming material tends to be so much cheaper it's probably worth the purchase of a tablet or even better laptop computer in today's era of gaming - apologies I know that makes me sound like a terrible snob and I don't mean to come across that way but I think it's just the reality of the gaming world nowadays)

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
