NILE - A game of Ancient Agriculture

This complete edition of the NILE card game consists of the 92-card original set, plus the 50-card deLuxor expansion (which introduced 2 new crop cards [for easier play with 5-6 players], 1 new resource card, 3 Monument cards, and 3 turn counter cards), for a total of 142 cards!

NILE is a simple set collection game with 5 suits, each suit representing an authentic crop type in ancient Egypt. Fast and easy to play. Great for the EURO-GAME lovers!

In NILE, players draft cards to plant fields. At the beginning of every turn there is a flood, which determines which fields will harvest that turn. Harvested resources are placed into storage piles, which ultimately determine the winner of the game. Players spend the game competing over resources, trading at markets and even making offerings to Hapi, the god of the Nile. The winner will be the player who defends their fields and manages their storage pile most effectively.

I didn’t have to ask my brother twice to play Nile and Petri who played it with me the last time joined us, so we got to try the three-player game. It was fast and fun. Nile is very good with three, as it is with two. Not terribly deep, but light and fun. I’ll have to write a proper review some day, Nile is well worth it. - Mikko Saari on board games.

Nile is a very smart game. There are a lot of times you're going to call your friends bad names, which is the mark of a fun game. Play poorly, and you're guaranteed to lose, which is another good sign. Play well, and it just means you've got a fair shot against everyone else.... It's smart, fun and tense, and that means a fun game where I'm from. - Matt Drake

Fun game of both luck and skill that I can play with my family (8, 10, 12, adults). The $20-25 cost on Amazon and other sites is just too much for a game in which components are nothing buy cards. The low $2.99 cost of this print and play version convi [...]

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
