Dark Age: Legends - Solo Adventure - Iron Scourge

In this Solo Adventure you assume the role of an adventurer in a Medieval Fantasy setting. You will  require The Dark Age: Legends Core Rulebook (CRB), the Dark Age: Otherworld Expansion, and any associated Expansions you wish to use to assist you, along with a pen and paper or word-processing document, to play.

The story is set up with an Introduction, a handful of location details and a few pertinent Story Points. The rest is down to you and your imagination.

The Actions you take should depend on who and what you see, and how you wish to interact. Keep a record of your story and adapt it as per the result of each Action. As you progress you will see that you are behaving as your own Storyteller, creating the interactive world in which you are playing.

Use the Character Creation section of the CRB to create your Character and use the Storyteller section of the CRB to assist with generating NPCs.

Once you have familiarised yourself with the  following few pages, you are ready to begin.

When allowed to roll a Bonus Die, roll two of the same required Dice and choose the most beneficial result.

The year is 1166 and the Extinguishing has left the fractured land of Ireland untouched by Norman incursions. The robust Norse-Gaellic Kingdoms of Dublin, Mann, and Galloway, are thriving due to superiority at sea. The remaining Kings of Ireland remain free to war among themselves for the title of High King of Ireland, as has been their custom for centuries passed. In the City-State of Wexford, a largely independent realm in the south of Leinster, a new power is on the rise. Kelach mac Colm, or the Kelach the Scourge, as he is known by friend and foe alike, is a Norse-Gael nobleman tired of honouring the new ways. A confirmed Pagan, Kelach has already won decisive battles against the King of Leinster and his papal ally the Bishop of Fens, turning Wexford into a nigh-impregnable fortress in the process. Kellach now eyes the coast of Cambria as an entry point into the mainland of the British Isles. From there, lands and riches enough to restore the Pagan legacy of the Celtic peoples fuel Kelach’s dreams.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
