Sinless is a playable cyberpunk tabletop role-playing game with magic, integrated domain play, and giant pools of d6s created by Courtney Campbell, author of On Downtime and Demesnes and creator of the Quantum Ogre!

Malls are back in a big way in this classic 1980s-styled cyberpunk role-playing game. Using a priority character creation system, you pick your heritage, magical aptitude, attributes, skills, starting resources and buy cybertechtronic and biogenetic enhancement.

Magic has reentered the world. Some humans have mutated into the Blighted, many growing tusks, horns, or even worse horrors; others have mutated into the Green, growing antlers pointed ears, or resembling the fae of myth. Humans share this world with Synths and Uplifts. Synths are synthetic AI in "living" forms and Uplifts are animals given intelligence, mobility, and opposable thumbs by cybertechtronics and biogenetics.

Sinless takes place in 2090, a possible dystopian future, but not one without hope! Given enough time, ingenuity, and planning, characters can use their brand to help make a better world. Once they accumulate 1 billion Zuzu's (a secure crypto-currency controlled by the corporate court, based on the popularity of a posh dog) they will be recognized by the international corporate court and can found their own future, free of interference.

What will your players sacrifice to achieve their goals?

Sinless was designed to be played in sessions lasting four to six hours by 4-6 human beings. Without a system identification number, cybernetic Ronin, Mages, Deckers, and Riggers form groups of Sinless who seek to undermine corporate lords. Not only by attacking them directly by performing extractions of crucial personnel, targeted destruction raids, and infiltration and data theft, but also by developing a brand, hiring assets, and exploring sectors to find new resources and factions.

If you cannot afford the PDF, and would like to play, contact the author. If you can afford it, you can contact me and lie, but that wouldn't be very cash money of you.

I'm obviously missing something .. I'm stumped by the Attributes listed for the Sample Characters (pp #53-63).

They are all given in the format x/y ... I get that the 'x' value is the Characteristic, but what on earth is the 'y' value. There seems to be no connection between the two that I can see and the character creation process, as abbreviated as it is, doesn't seem to mention what it might be.

Without knowing what its relevance is I can't see any way of being confident in working character creation.

HELP!

The book is 259 pages long, and the sample pdf is 190 pages long. That's pretty awesome.

Per the Discord, that's something they're working on right now. There are also early plans for a character creator and VTT support, but that looks to be very early days right now.

Like what they did here. It is the best ShadowRun version I have read and I look forward to play it at my table. So get it before copyright infringement claims shut it down.

[No matter the arguments already raised here, this is not a new game inspired by various Cyberpunkt sources, but clearly a MASSIVELY IMPROVED carbon copy of SR - including page layout, terminology, art ...]

Thank you for the kind comments.
Let me reiterate: This product contains no infringing use of anyone's copyright. The IP contained within is entirely original.
This is a original table-top RPG containing a euro-game type domain cycle, uplifts, synthetics, and is an independent and original setting, taking place 68 years in our future.

Kickstarter backer here.

D6 dice pool mechanics with a unified gear+skill limit and stat derived dice pools with a fixed target number. The combination of this with a unified combat/targeting and conflict action system between physical, hacking, rigging and magic that feels reasonable for the meta fiction, makes for a game with medium crunch that plays much lighter and easier at the table in my early testing.

It's not rules light, but for me it hits the sweet spot I've been after. The aforementioned unified d6 dice pool system makes it feel like a Shadowrun release I've been awaiting for over 20 years. The retro art style increases that vibe along with a lot of little subtle and not so subtle nostalgic nods and easter eggs throughout are fun but don't reach the level of distracting.

Contains its own lore and setting..but could be easily ran in existing Shadowrun campaigns or other settings. Includes a really fleshed out domain game for between runs..I could see people...See more

The game looks super interesting, is there a possibility to offer the whole thing in printable form via Lulu in the future?
Since the POD from drivetrough are usually very expensive to ship, especially for Europeans

Looking at the Preview it def hits that Shadowrun vibe with what looks like some Cypher system refinement in it? Looks like a promising system for people looking for a 6E alternative

Saw this and jaw dropped, I've been waiting for someone to do something like this. Love the treatment, art, and terminology. Merely waiting on print to be available and this'll be in my cart!

"Hack and Slash" publishing seems right. Hack away the world of Shadowrun. Slash any of the lore away. Technically not plagiarism (even borrowing the skull and ribbon banner design of early Shadowrun), but still distasteful.

Sinless is an original IP Chrome & Sorcery Table Top Role Playing Game.

Do you think Catalyst owns the idea of a game with magic and technology? That's not very cyberpunk of you.

This is not a place for corporate shills.

Hi there. I purchased the game and supported it on Kickstarter. Being inspired by a number of sources from Blade Runner and the A-Team to RIFTS and Shadowrun does not make the resulting game any one of these things. Since it combines its inspirations into its own set of unique rules, its own world, and its own lore, it is by all intent and purposes a perfectly legitimate work and game. No one owns the concept of cybernetics plus magic. So instead of jumping to conclusions, I'd invite anyone curious to check the content by clicking the "PREVIEW" button under the cover the work, and make up their minds as to whether they like what they see. It'll be more constructive than shooting from the hip without really knowing what the game is about. Cheers!

Calling someone a corporate shill for uttering some criticism tells me more than I need to know. It's not about cyberpunk and magic, it's about the (obvious) similarities to Shadowrun in design. I'd even go so far an say the first time I read the term "SINless" was in Shadowrun.

Again...similar to the OSR movement...similarity in design is...sorta the point..It's what people like me have been waiting for like..20 plus years..as Catalyst clearly isn't answering the call. But I digress. Also..I understand if Shadowrun is the first time you encountered the term SINless..but that tells me you didn't ever read Mona Lisa Overdrive. Cyberpunk 2020 also uses the term SINless and similarly got it from Gibson. I'll go so far as to say 90% of all the lexicon from Cyberpunk and ShadowRun are simply direct lifts from Gibson's Neuromancer series...so essentially Cyberpunk 2020 copied everything from Neuromancer in an effort to emulate the fiction...Shadowrun subsequently lifted everything from either Cyberpunk 2020 or direct from Gibson as well. These are generic tropes in the fiction..similar to dragons, hobbits, elves, etc etc etc...If anything you should be angry at all Cyberpunk games going to back to the firsts for lifting all this IP from Gibson, Stephenson and others without having to pay...See more

Again... I have no problem that this has cyberpunk, magic and all that stuff. The logo, fonts and interior art is where I'm scratching my head. It just looks like a SR ripoff. I see no point in buying this especially when the publisher doesn't care to give a decent answer to criticism. I've wasted enough time on this discussion and don't care what you assume I have or haven't read.

Bastian is correct. It was not professional of me to call anyone a corporate shill. I'm a writer and artist, who just worked with a small team for a year on this project, and you know, I'm not a 'media manager'. We worked hard and it was an emotional and inappropriate response.

In regards to the game, if there were only some other examples of people taking inspiration from another thirty-year-old game and being inspired to publish their own games.

Sinless is a completely original and unique game and intellectual property.

I don't understand what the issue is, is there a legal restriction on the right to use fantasy and cyberpunk together? Does Shadowrun own Canada's SIN system by traveling back to 1964 to claim it?

It's very exhausting that people cannot even imitate fun concepts in the modern day. I feel like we're only a few years away from new cartoons being illegal because drawing things is plagiarism from all the "original" artists that used pens first or something.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
