The Agency Files: Part 3 - The Reptaurans and other Strangeness

The Agency has the arduous task of keeping Earth safe from alien threats while keeping benign alien visitors safe from human beings, and no one thorn in its side has made this task more difficult than the Triumvirate. Now that these three alien invaders—each with its sights set on Earth—are available to you, Everyday Heroes may never be the same.

The Triumvirate is made up of three distinct and powerful alien species. Visitors from one species, the Reptaurians, biologically camouflage themselves by generating a layer of human-like skin over their own flesh to blend in with the human population. The other two species, the Grey and Green Martians form two sides of the same coin: both use telepathy to hide among humans. The Greys have a voracious hunger for information and use technology and deep logic to probe, manipulate, and dominate their surroundings. The Greens, which prefer battle, take a more direct route: they use ray guns and instinctual soldering techniques to ready themselves for a call to arms at any moment! Armed as these aliens are with a variety of new technologies that range from disintegration rifles and implosion-based zvuurp grenades to a standard Martian probe array, some people think that the Agency has the deck stacked against it. Will you?

The Agency Files Part Three is a Bonus Feature that further develops the Agency as a sci-fi backdrop for Everyday Heroes and allows you to create adversaries for any of the great adventure settings already offered by Evil Genius Games. Yet, it is just the beginning of our expanding Everyday Heroes universe. So, be sure to keep your scanners turned on, and your eyes on the tabloids—and watch for more great stuff from The Agency Files!

This Agency Files series looks quite interesting, but really lightweight and incomplete without the other parts. It's as though you're writing a 150-200 page Conspiracy-X style sourcebook for your 5e update of d20 Modern. But that you've decided to split the supplement into a part-work mini-zine series of 10 page tasters. If that's the case, at $5 per section, a whole regular sized supplement will eventually clock in at $75 to $100+ just for some collected PDFs that would normally constitute one book.
Although I'm interested, I think I'll wait to see what level of completeness (and price) the whole project reaches before I decide whether to buy in.

Thanks for the feedback on the pricing. It helps us make decisions in future.

Generally, the bigger the book and the bigger the audience the more value per page we can do thanks to economies of scale. The downside on bigger products is they take considerably longer to produce.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
