I preorderd this game on DTRPG back in 2014. How do I claim my copy? Pretty please my patience is paying off.

Can i use this game with d6adventure or d6fantasy characters with ease? or would there be some tongue and cheeking the rules?

I did not buy a copy from DTRRPG but here is my 2 cents. I am not sure how this kitchen sink of an rpg is getting good reviews, irrespective of the delay. The writing is both verbose and unclear, the different sections of the game rules do not jive with each other. Almost as if some sections had months or years between when they were written and never gone back through to make sure everything was consistent.

The proofing is poor. The skills explanations are internally inconsistent from one section to another and interact with each other in very non-intuitive and complicated ways at times. The combination of D6 WEG rules and Fate aspects might work well together but then there are leftover bits from the draft d20 rules + additional metacurrencies that add cognitive load and inconsistency. All to say, in combat shoot 'em in the face is the only rationale action in most combat.

Just as an example, one of the skills listed in this game of "furious action" is digging. That's...See more

I looked outside and the usual desert, arid climate looks like a frozen wasteland. Hell must have froze over with the release of this book.

I'll most likely purchase it at some point.

Mr Skarka. I would be very happy to buy your book (I've been looking to this book coming out), however this no way I'm paying $47 AUD for a 270 page book. I will be waiting for this to drop to approx $20 before I consider picking this book up.

Just buy Deadlands for Savage Worlds and be done with it. You can get the core SWADE rules and Deadlands book for a fraction of this price.

Well, if you call about 100% (SWADE, Player's Book, Marshall's Book are each 9,99 for a total of 29,97) a fraction. And as an owner of Deadlands, I have to say these two games look very different conceptually. Deadlands is Alt Hist Western Steampunk; this seems to be Western Wuxia with a dash of Steampunk, but set in an original fantasy world, not in any Alt Hist. If the latter sounds more like what I want, why should I get Deadlands instead? There's a lot of weird western Games out there (Weird Frontier, Haunted West ...), and most of them are sufficiently different from Deadlands to be their own thing and find their own fans.

I was a backer of the project years and years ago, but lost track of the project as that KS account was tied to a dead email address. I received Amble's map and the collection of short stories when they were released, but never expected the project to be completed. Is there any way to claim my KS reward at this date?

Reduced from £48...so the assumption is it will at some point return to this pricing. I'd consider dropping that on a physical book, but a pdf? Or maybe the publishers figure the project's length somehow adds value to the product? £4 per year seems reasonable...if every one of those years was spent actually working on the book, which history tells us it was not.

Wow... £48?? Yeah, a physical book for 27 is okay but for a pdf? Nah! ANd considering how late it is LOOL.

I think the higher price is the (eventual) print book price, not the "real" PDF price. Nobody sells PDFs for THAT much.

Okay, reading the preview, I'm honestly in two minds. The concept outlined sounds interesting, but really, there is nothing here that suggests that the book develops the concept beyond the initial spark. pp 4-5 provide a very brief glimpse at the setting that's weirdly lacking in terms of proper nouns. The Empire is just the empire, a bigger province finally rose against the empire and initated a wave of secession ... but that bigger province doesn't have a name, there are no protagonists of the history of the Far West namedropped, we don't learn if there have been any peoples in the Far West before the empire's expansion and how they might be called ... there's even a list of titles that imperial governor's might give themselves (prince, king, exarch, emir ...) that kind of sounds as if the author himself hadn't yet decided on which terminology to use. It's not that I need any of this to appreciate the concept, but if there were some proper nouns, this would suggest that the setting is actually developed beyond...See more

To add to my coment above, I've been assured that there's a lot of actual setting description in the book. So I guess it's more a matter of the preview not really representing this.

But is this a positive or a negative aspect. They spin it as if this would result in higher quality, but for me it is a sign of bad planning and execution. ( ut there might be circumstances I’m not aware of)

Definitely a negative. I backed the Kickstarter when it originally launched. Fortunately I only plunked down the KS amount for the PDF ($10). Then followed literal 12 years of "updates" claiming it was "almost finished" and "it'd be done soon" and "but...it's not yet because [insert sad excuse here]" Sooooooo....yeah.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
