Introduction

About This Adventure

J’town’s Naughty or Nice is a Christmas themed adventure wreathed in body horror and moral ambiguity. During the wintry holidays, a pair for bogeyman sheathed in human skin have relocated to J’town. They feed on J’town’s most villainous personalities by using their Fear Aura to frighten their victims to death. Afterwards, they dispose of the corpses by processing the flesh through their increasingly popular soap and fragrance shop. As the PCs investigate these disappearances, they’ll eventually face an impossible decision—take on the bogeymen or allow them to cleanse uninterrupted.

Old-School Essentials

To run this adventure, the Game Master requires a copy of 2023 Dark Places & Demogorgons game for Old-School Essentials.

Character Level

This adventure is intended for leveled PCs who have previously encountered and investigated the strange or the supernatural occurrences in J-Town. The recommended starting level is 2-4.

Setting

J’town’s Naughty or Nice is set in Jeffersontown, KY, the iconic hometown outlined in Dark Places & Demogorgons. However, REFEREEs are welcome to relocate this adventure to any small town of their choosing.

Runtime and Recommended Table Size

J’town’s Naughty or Nice is intended for convention play (approximately 4 hours) and is best suited for 2-6 PCs.
