Beast Kingdom: A Katanas and Kimonos Game

Beast Kingdom is a spin-off game of our bestselling Katanas and Kimonos game line (available HERE). While it’s compatible with KnK, it’s a standalone product and you don’t need to buy anything else to enjoy it.

The rules take inspiration from John Harper’s classic, Lasers and Feelings, but they offer additional mechanics, such as enemy abilities, variable dice, and a push-your-luck mechanism.

In Beast Kingdom you play an anthropomorphic creature adventuring in a land based on, but distinct from, feudal Japan. Will you make your way through the ranks of a samurai clan, or will you strike out on your own? With support for both solo or group play, the possibilities are endless.

Character generation takes a few seconds, and the included adventure generator and encounter builders reduce GM prep time to nil. Beast Kingdom also introduces a variant character advancement option, including a novel way of gaining experience. Your chances of learning a valuable life lesson increase proportionately with the Exhaustion you’ve taken in a given scene.
