Honey, I Shrunk the Space Ship!

Suggested Price $3.00

This is an adventure for Cepheus Engine.

Merchant George Wang is very concerned. George is an officer of the Halo Corporation which is a merchant outfit in the Sonora sector. The Halo Corporation runs many dedicated routes in the major shipping lanes of the sector. George dispatches merchant ships from the corporation to many parts of the sector on a daily basis.

Recently, however, he has discovered a minor problem. Ships have been disappearing on one particular route that he just began sending ships through. He is not sure why. There have been no reports of hazards. There have been no reports of pirates. The route seems perfectly safe. But he has lost three ships there in the last month.

He wants answers. Are there pirates along this route preying on his shipping? Is there some, unmarked hazard, wrecking Halo Corporation ships? Is there something else along the way causing ships to be disabled or destroyed?

Distinct Land of the Giants vibe, one of my favourite TV shows when young, well done.

However... I think some of the logic is off? I may be mistaken, but even a small adventure class ship lie the Type A is some 63-odd metres and when reduced, is still over 3m long (close to the length of a Toyota Camry!), would stand at least 1/2m high, and made of super dense--even reduced in size--metals is more a tripping hazard than something an agent is going to just step on and crush!

The people inside once out in the wild might be a little hard to notice if they don't want to me noticed depending upon the environment, but the ship landing in a starport or someone's back yard is certainly going to be noticeable, may even trigger defence warnings?

Because I have fond memories of Land of the Giants, I've love that concept of little people, but if I ever use this product, it would need a lot of GM reworking with my players, being computer scientists and police investigators who really...See more

Might want to check the file you uploaded. It is only the front cover in JPG format and not 17 pages of PDF.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
