Libram Arte Arma is quite simply, The Book of Skill at Arms for Novus 2e! Within the covers of this book you will find the following:

  • 13 Fighter Training Paths - Each Training Path for Fighters allows for customization and for focusing on different martial aspects.
  • 12 Adept Training Paths - Adepts combine skill at arms with other skills to provide you a wide variety of character types.
  • 4 Hybrid Training Paths - A Hybrid Training Path is one that mixes elements of other types of Training Paths. These 4 Training Paths are all ones that mix skill at arms with a little magical ability. One Training Path, the Elemental Guard, has 9 example variations, actually providing 12 Hybrids in total.
  • Expanded Skill Descriptions - We have expanded and clarified the skills and the resolution methods available to them.
  • Commerce & Equipment - We have included the expanded equipment lists from Libram Secundus #04, include the rules for Armor By the Piece!
  • 100 Combat Moves - We have a total of 100 individual Combat Moves that a character may learn. There are 3 Universal Combat Moves, 31 Melee Combat Moves, 13 for Archery, 6 for Thrown Weapons, and 47 for the Martial Arts.
  • 37 Combat Styles - We have included a total of 37 Combat Styles for your characters to learn. This includes 14 Weapon Styles and 23 Martial Arts Styles. This will definitely give your Monks something to kick about!

It takes skill to show a little style!

With the release of Fantasy Express, is Novus being put on the back burner or possibly abandoned?

Do you have an estimated date for a PoD?
Also, with this and Libram Arcanis, can we expect books for Adepts and Hybrids in the future?
I hope so. :)

I figure about a month before I start preparing POD (give some time for folks to find and yell at me about typos I missed... hehehe

Books on Adepts and Hybrids, no, sorry, but these two books contained expansions to those two categories as well (the books were broadly based on magic and this one on Skill (mostly skill at arms).

My next project (which I started on this morning before work) is Libram Creaturae (Book of Creatures), to expand the few from the core rules... Currently hoping for a minimum of 120 creatures in this book...

I ams also working on filling out (for later publication) my setting of Anwyn -- which you can see some material for at https://anwyn.firehawkgames.biz/index.html -- I have the basic history and layout of the land up there, along with maps, both of the setting and of 6 different cities (I plan on detailing 2 of them in the setting book, the rest later), and glossaries of the 9 languages I created for the setting

(the two quickstart...See more

Is the PoD still in process?
Also, how is Libram Creaturae coming along?

Yes, I have POD in my queue to work on in the coming weeks. Libram Creaaturae was back-burnered for a while (but still in the queue) as I work on a variant of Against the Darkmaster that will use 2d10 (as opposed to d100) - but this variant (to be called Fantasy Express) will have a quicker, simpler combat system that uses the same resolution table as skills and spells and save (this table is also on the character sheet). Visit firehawkgames.biz and check out what I have posted about it (will be posting public updates on it this morning)

I just notice the product title here has a typo.

'Librm' instead of 'Libram'

At least I fixed it in the back end, no idea how long it will take to reflect up at the top of the page.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
