Micro RPG-R is a super simple and easy-to-learn/play tabletop roleplaying game system. (Hence the "micro" portion of the Micro RPG-R title of the system). This simplicity makes the game accessible to new gamers, gamers with less time on their hands, and even new Game Masters wanting to run a system that is easy to randomize and run.

Micro RPG (also previously known as Micro Chapbook RPG), as an overarching game system, has been an almost living game system since it started back in early 2020. It was created as a free, single-page game to help people get through the pandemic lockdown. Its popularity pushed me to continue making new content for it, updating it, adding new rules, tweaking the rules, adapting it to new genres, and more.

Neat, simple game design; will definitely be doing some test runs soon.

I did have a Rules question, though: in one (1) place only does it say that a character's stats are from 1 to 10; but it doesn't really state anywhere that if that is the hard limit, since you gain stat boosts from leveling. Is there a rule I missed that discusses this? Like "a player can only raise a stat to 10 through leveling until they reach Epic Level" or some such? [I know my players, its going to come up pretty quickly :) ]

How many pages is the PDF and is there a table of contents you can click around in easily?

I'm new to micro chapbook and I just want to know a little more before possibly purchasing.

First of all, I am happy to see this member in your game's family. Personally, I am pleased to see that you switched from culture to lineage which much better conveys what it describes.
As in previous incarnations, you do not have humans as the default lineage; however, you have lineages that mention being of mixed blood with humans being one part of the equation. So, this raises the question about the in-game explanation what happened to humans? Are they gone - and since when/why? Or are they simply not as adventurous as the other lineages, thus being present in the common populace but not in the adventuring community? I am not against the removal of humans from the possible lineages, but I am curious about the in-game explanation for their absence since the lineages clearly show that they have at least existed at some point in the world's history (I am always interested in the story of a game, so those details matter to me).

Another question I have is about using the Portals....See more

Also, will there be more detailed, story-driven adventures like the Bone Lord Chronicles and Van Drac, as well as new areas like Lupusvolp, made for the new core book?

Micro RPG-R is the most current system and the only version that is actively being supported from now on. RPG-R returns to the idea of simplicity, while 1.75 had a habit of getting to crunchy for a "micro" game.

There is already a new area book (called a Region book) out for the game (Island of Filth) and there will be more. Region books expand the world in the core book. World books will add different settings.

As far as story-driven games, I'm sure there will be some in the future. There is an ongoing series right now called The Goat Chronicles which has very light story elements.

The Sci-Fi version will be officially announced in a few days on social media with a cover reveal. Cover has already been "secretly" teased in a few locations. My hope is the new SF version will be as popular (and receive as much support) if not more so than all of these fantasy editions. And funnily enough, I was just thinking of a mini/pocket version of the above core rules.

Awesome! I hope it includes Digitech like Hive of Bones has, or equivalent. I was disappointed it wasn't covered in the Sci-Fi core.

Is a preview planned (on Drivethru)…or a YouTube video? It says on Amazon the fantasy book is 8.5” x 11”…is that true? I’m not a fan of all the digest sized books, so I like books in this lager (classic) format…but I’m guessing that is a typo and it’s digest sized? When can we expect this version on dead tree?

ALL Micro RPG-R books are the traditional 8.5x11 size for easier formatting, layout, and better art display. This book is available now on Amazon in print. I'll consider doing a "preview" run-through of how the game works on Amazon.

Bought this today as a shamelessly transparent willingness to support Noah.

It's a good design, this edition is stunningly well illustrated in really spectacular colour.

Is it worth 9 bucks. I won't lie, I'm normally a cheap SOB. It's a bit pricey. 9 bucks, I could get it in POD hardcover for just a bit more in most cases with most of the competition.

So my purchase is as I said, openly and willingly supportive.
But the game is a good design.

Thank you for the support and willingness to purchase the PDF despite the higher-than-usual price!

The cost goes toward not only to me as the designer of the game system itself but to pay the artists who worked so hard on the art for the book. The cost of the PDF is gauged by the amount of color art, the cost of editing/layout software, the time it took to write, playtest, and proof the book, and more! At 9.99, this book comes to about 12 cents a page or so.

In the past, I rushed through writing books to get them out as often as possible. This way I felt okay selling the PDF versions for 5 dollars or less (usually only a dollar or two in reality). However, the old books (while still fun and good) don't end up as clean or as well put together as current and future titles. (at least I can hope my newer content is of higher quality).

This is also why I made the starter editon only $1.99, so anyone could play the game! (And the starter is all players need to utilize any expansions...See more

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
