Realms of Magic & Mystery expands the setting of Scion Second Edition with details about 28 new Terra Incognita, six new Axes Mundi, and a wealth of additional information about otherworlds and how to use them in your series.

Realms of Magic & Mystery requires Scion: Origin and is compatible with all of the other Scion Second Edition books. Inside, you will find:

  • More than 20 entirely new otherworlds, including 10 strange places, eight Midrealms, and several new Overworlds and Underworlds.
  • Advice to Storyguides for creating new otherworlds, including step-by-step instructions for creating them.
  • New Boons, Callings, Knacks, and Relics that are either associated with the various realms in this book or that help characters interact with and travel between realms.
Also available now from Onyx Path Publishing:

Saints & MonstersScion Second Edition Player's Guide: Saints & Monsters

Discover what lurks in the hidden corners of myth.

There is more to The World than the children of the Gods — more than Heroes and Demigods. Legends speak of stranger things; of mortals who challenge the very Gods themselves, or who see Fate’s invisible workings laid bare; of creatures of every kith and kind who still dwell, here and there, alongside humanity; of sorcerers who tamper with things they should not, tempting the ire of the Gods with their hubris; and of the children of the Titans, whose inhuman ichor burns away at their very humanity.

What tales will you tell of such wonders?

Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero are required to use this book, although Scion: Demigod and Mysteries of the World are useful additions.

Scion Player’s Guide — Saints & Monsters contains:

  • Two new Callings: Outsider and Shepherd!
  • Expanded rules for playing Saints, Prophets, and Denizens!
  • Full rules for playing Sorcerers and Titanic Scions!
  • Edges, a new character creation system, and new takes on the Storypath system!

Why is this store page formatted this way? I had been under the impression that the rules for Sorcerers and titanic scions was in the Realms of Magic and Mystery book. YOU KNOW, THE BOOK I'M LOOKING AT THE DESCRIPTION OF. But nope, the stuff I wanted is apparently in a second book that ALSO has a summary on this book's page. I'm very dissapointed and out $15. This has no bearing on the quality of the book, but really, this is very poorly laid out.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
