Regular price: $1.99

This book, an “Animal Player’s Handbook,” presents a detailed system for incorporating viable animal characters into a either traditional or animal-oriented OGL campaign. Some of the material in this publication was developed as addenda to The Noble Wild and some of it appears in the current edition of that book. Collectively, however, this material has applications that can be applied outside of the system presented in The Noble Wild. And so, we have created Updated Animal Familiars as a means both of making this materia...

Regular price: $0.99
Bundle price:
 $0.20
Format:
 PDF
Using their expertise in biotechnology, the Ancients created or recreated many new species for use as pets or livestock. Ever-popular dinosaurs were among the first large, complex creatures brought back in the lab. This was not cloning or “de-extinction” in the strictest sense, but rather a combination of genetic archaeology and reinterpretation, and the Ancients designed the animals for their own reasons and pleasures as though sculpting with DNA putty.  Wisdom from the Wastelands is dedicated to providing useful information, game content, and ideas to players of modern, science fiction, and post-apocalyptic table-top and role-playing games in general and to fans of Goblinoid Games’ Mutant Future RPG in particular. The material it contains are compatible with it and...

Animals alone represent a large category but can actually be mammal, reptile, amphibian, avian, or even  insect, and plants are no less diverse. Most animals have different types of advantages and disadvantages — some are very strong, while others are very agile, some can fly, some breathe water. Plant capabilities and drawbacks can be even more strange and profound.  What kind of animal do you want to play? How “human” do you want your animal character to be? Do you want to be able to use weapons and tools? Do you want to be able to talk? Walk like a human? This expanded issue of Wisdom from the Wastelands answers those questions and guides you through the process of playing a mutated anima...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
