Undying Fires - Solo Story Adventure - The Entombed Crown

In The Entombed Crown – Undying Fires you assume the role of an adventurer in a Dark Fantasy setting. You will  require The Entombed Crown Core Rulebook (CRB) along with any associated Expansions you wish to use to assist you, along with a pen and paper or word-processing document, to play.

The story is set up with an Introduction, a handful of Location Details and a few pertinent Story Points. The rest is down to you and your imagination.

The Actions you take should depend on who and what you see, and how you wish to interact. Keep a record of your story and adapt it as per the result of each Action. As you progress you will see that you are behaving as your own Storyteller, creating the interactive world in which you are playing.

Use the Character Creation section of the CRB to create your Character and use the Storyteller section of the CRB to assist with generating NPCs.

Once you have familiarised yourself with the  following few pages, you are ready to begin.

Fire which burns within a soul is that which burns the longest. The burden of capacity for Magical manifestation still carries it’s stigma in many places in the Known World. You were cast out by your clan at an early age for this very reason and you have not looked back. But now there is something which may be done. There is hope for the way forward.

The Town of Faradza is a place where Magic is embraced. The people here all have the same thing in common – the quest for a harmonious life among like-minded individuals. Faradza is however beset on two sides by those who do not approve. To the North West is the Formar City-State Ethelra. It is here where Magic-Users are “returned to nature” by being tied to the stake and burned alive. To the South West are the wastelands of the Arnor Clans, where Magic-Users can be expected to live out their days as seer-slaves. The Sea of Ashana to the East separates Faradza from freedom and from the prospect of further expansion.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
