i really like this but please update the pdfs outline so i can actually quickly search for something quick. gets real annoying having to scroll all the way to the top for the table of contents other than that though its pretty much perfect 10/10 add in clickable table of contents on the side and we balling

I picked up a copy (ordered the POD hard cover). I've got a ways to read it, but wanted to comment on the art for those interested: I counted roughly 15 pictures I found "fine" and the ship images in particular are good, using a computer art element to design, so those worked especially well. About 9 pieces were "okay" in that they weren't great but I wasn't overly embarassed by them. Two pics stood out to me as godawful. I would describe the art as "Much better than Star Crawl" which is the lowest bar possible, but not as good as is in some other Stellagama books (I love Sword of Cepheus, for example). It's best thought of as an OSR vibe, but there is better OSR art out there that evokes an earlier art style but isn't obviously amateur. I could give this to my game group and I think they might comment on the art but it wouldn't be a deal breaker (by contrast I can only get them to play Star Crawl if I hide the actual book from them). This looks really good, been waiting for updated and revised Classic Traveller rules for years. This might well become my Traveller game from now on. Errata for Cepheus Deluxe - says use the Effect on the Aging Table and it should say use a 2D throw. There is no way you can avoid aging badly if you only use the Effect of the throw lol. Checked this in MgT and CT and yes it's a 2D throw.

Overall mind these rules are really good. Coupled with some Classic Traveller ships from Supplement 7 Traders and Gunboats, along with some official Traveller aliens like Aslan and Vargr, and possibly an Imperium map or two like the Mongoose Spinward Marches, these Traveller rules are the best in existence. Well done! Think the only thing I've noticed you are missing is mesh and ablat armour!

Cepheus Engine is more based on Mongoose Traveller 1E. It's essentially a retroclone of sorts. You could say it's the Pathfinder 1E to Mgt1E's 3.5

Quick rough list:
You pick the skills during character creation and generally characters are a lot more configured to suit the player's desires rather than being randomised.
You assign fixed numbers 5,6,7,8,9,10 to the stats initially.
There are character traits.
Some skills are slightly different - for example there is now repair to cover vehicle repairs, and some such as advocate and gambling have been amalgamated into others.
Can use corrective Cybernetics to try to remedy injuries etc during character creation.
Ship and vehicle combat uses 'Position' to determine advantage.
Characters use stamina and lifeblood for injuries rather than the physical stats.
No laser carbines or ACRs !!!
Animals have gone back to Classic Traveller specs.
Ships and aliens are all different for licensing reasons.
Ships have either Standard, Streamlined or Distributed hulls.
Better player actions in ship combat and a lot clearer.

Does the fuel take as much space and if not, does that make for more comfortable interiors or just more firepower?

Are the chase mechanics just dire rolls? (As compared to something like Spycraft where they had strategies target and pursuer could use separately and then you had some input into the way the chase played out)

Are there any subdual type hand to hand? A lot of times I'd rather put someone down with a pain subdual or a choke out than beat them to a pulp.... or shoot them...

I have some of the older Cepheus core books, but looking at the layout of this one from the preview, I'm highly unlikely to buy this (and definitely not a print copy should one become available). I really dislike the page borders, and while art is subjective, the examples I've seen are not my cup of tea. Mostly it's the page borders that are dealbreakers, maybe if you did a low graphics version I'd consider it.

Just got this and excited to give it a go. On page 149 under the Population table it is showing atmosphere type instead of population numbers. I am just checking that it should be a population table and the atmosphere one is separate to Population DMS.

Amazing! I have read this book cover to cover a few times now, and I am very impressed. I am particularly fond of how the career pages look compared to the previous version of Cepheus Deluxe. I think that the overall visual theme is great, it looks very professional and contrary to what one other commenter said, the colors choices are spectacular.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
