Blades in the Deck: Crews

Blades in the Deck is a series of card decks containing play aids for people playing and running Blades in the Dark!

This is the Crews deck. Using the Crews deck, you can base your decisions on a flexible range of options, speeding up the process of building your crew so you can get right to the first heist.

In this deck, you'll find cards useful for getting your crew up and running in no time:

• 2 instructions cards
• 24 crew relationships cards
• 60 cards covering the six crew types in Blades in the Dark (10 each of assassins, bravos, cultists, hawkers, shadows, and smugglers).

Build your distinctive criminal conspiracy fast so you can get right into the action with this Crew Generation Deck. Players collaborate to design their organization, and now they can draw a couple cards to focus their decisions. Once they know what kind of crew they want to build, they can draw cards representing builds, focusing their decisions and providing the shadowy flavors of Doskvol without needing to absorb all the context first.

Each crew type has its own mini-deck, so making a crew can be quick while also providing intriguing options. Once the crew's build is established, the relationship cards locate the crew within the city's intrigues and alliances. The crew's first upgrade angered somebody, and pleased somebody else; also, the crew's main contact brings them other allies and enemies. Drawing a couple cards can provide some built-in conflict and drama to start the scoundrels off on their adventures!

Cards include simple instructions for generating a crew, and they provide page numbers to reference the Blades in the Dark rulebook. The deck makes it easy for GMs to quickly create other crews that can serve as rivals, allies, and targets! Every crew type card also includes three possible crew names that can inspire the players, and also give the GM some ideas for rival crews.
