Regular price: $1.99
Bundle price:
 $0.89
Format:
 PDF
Creatures of the Wastelands: Habitats is devoted to some of the possible environments and locations that might exist in a post-apocalyptic campaign setting and how they can be used in role-playing games in general and Goblinoid Games' Mutant Future in particular. Life being what it is, most of these locations have since been colonized by a variety of mutant and non-mutant life forms. Following each of the 44 described locations is a list of up to four creatures each from three different books, the Mutant Future core rulebook, and Skirmisher Publishing LLC's Creatures of the Wastelands and Creatures of the Wastelands: Mutational Evolution, both licensed supplements to Mutant Future. Creatures of the Wastelands: Habitats is fully compatible...

Bundle price:
 $0.20

 PDF
An extraterrestrial presence is real. They watch us strip-mine the planet to fuel the growth of populations and economies. Will they intervene to help us avert disaster?  And what's with all the anal probes?  If there is a plan to avert disaster, the aliens operating out of a subterranean base in Antarctica didn't get the memo. As much as they'd like to help, that's not their job. Instead, they go through the motions at work and do what they can to find a hint of meaning in their otherwise monotonous lives. ...

Regular price: $2.99
Bundle price:
 $1.34
Format:
 PDF
This dual-themed sourcebook is devoted to both descriptions and statistics for ray guns of all sorts, military and civilian, and material that can be used to make wastelands and ruins themselves, and not just their inhabitants, significant and interesting. Items of the latter sort include spontaneously-generated technology that can be used as rewards or dangers, ideas on how to spice up ruins with mundane and superscience hazards, and guidelines on rooms that might be found anywhere in the wastes. Material in this supplement is stat’ed for the “Basic” OGL/d20 system and can be used as-is with OSR games like the Labyrinth Lord retroclone of D&D or the Mutant Future retroclone of Gamma World and is compatible with and easily adapted to games derived from that syste...

262478-thumb140.jpgThe Living Building
Regular price: $1.99
Bundle price:
 $0.89
Format:
 PDF
“Just after dawn, a village scout dashed from the forest carrying a wondrous, and perhaps even terrifying, story of a huge, circular shell with a door, a massive coiled building that sprang up during the night. And it is still growing … ” Whether from forgetfulness, mental blockage, or intrusions of the dread “real life,” every storyteller has probably experienced that sinking, not-so-prepared feeling before a game. This sourcebook provides a remedy for the next time that happens, and includes an adventure location that is both a little pre-generated and a little homemade, is immediately expandable and adaptable, and can be replayed without seeming like a re-run, because the building changes even as the characters explore it. “The Living Building” includes background and physical descri...

140462-thumb140.jpgWisdom from the Wastelands Issue #47: Underwater Rules
Regular price: $0.99
Bundle price:
 $0.44
Format:
 PDF
Water covers over 70% of Earth’s surface, so it is likely that many adventures will take the occasional aquatic turn. This could happen in the wilds, on the open ocean, or down in inky subterranean depths. Mid-exploration, an evil game master might even open the water valves in an underground tunnel or inundate some ruins below a destroyed dam. A naive player could believe the worst thing about a water encounter is getting wet, or maybe that something large, toothy, and cold-blooded might try to take a friendly little nibble. But any watery environment is an extremely hostile place: the hazards are many and varied, and death can lurk within the most placid of pools. To enhance adventures on the water or below the surface, this issue introduces a plethora of new rules, ranging from water-d...

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
