Is there a preferred PDF reader for the book? My digital copy has the "fantasy" graphic spilling over half the page for each chapter going over the various fantasy types. Is this intentional?

Truthfully, its a waiting game at this point. Just like with the PDF, we might not even see the Core Book or the High Fantasy Atlas for another year. :(

I not one to rush a Publisher, but this is gonna be a slow print.

last news is 1st quarter of 2023 for the European English release, late April in the US. All subject to change as international printing and shipping is still a nightmare

Is there a way we can add bookmarks to the PDF, some important bits of information in character creation like the stat blocks, theme, and identities are not bookmarked which makes it a pain to either have to search for the page or jump to the book mark ahead and scroll down.

Almost February and no physical book yet. I really wish we could get a Print on Demand version. I don't understand why publishers choose to deny themselves more money like this.

Hi Stacie, we can assure you that we are the first to be unhappy that Fabula Ultima has not yet gone into distribution. Unfortunately, contingencies happen and distribution in North America is facing a period of major problems that are slowing the arrival of the Core Rulebook on the market.
As a publisher we can't start selling before retailers can have a chance to do so in turn, it would almost be unfair competition and would not give everyone an equal opportunity to access the game.
POD is not contemplated.
We are very sorry about the timing, we are doing our best to resolve this in the best way and get the game in your hands as soon as possible

All of this is reminding me of everything that ended up causing the Lancer trpg from being released in retail and making that game nearly impossible to find in print now and the decision to not do a PoD causing a lot of people from ever being able to get a copy in print.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
