“Smoke Green” is a short investigative scenario of Cthulhu Mythos horror, set entirely in H.P. Lovecraft’s fictional town of Arkham. It can be played with access to just the open-source Cthulhu Eternal Jazz Age SRD, which (for convenience) we have bundled with the scenario. The adventure also comes with digital versions of all props and maps, to make it easier to run on a VTT of your preference.

About The Scenario: A new craze is sweeping Arkham (and every other nearby city). A new brand of cigarette with a wonderfully vivid selling point -- the smoke from these smoother-than-smooth cigarettes has a lustrous green hue. It's the cat's pyjamas, don't you know. Oh, and the word around town is that smoking these new Reinhart cigarettes might actually make you more successful in life! In your career, in your relationships, everywhere! And who doesn't want success?

But not everything is mellow. The recently-built five-story Reinhart Tobacco Factory, down by the refurbished Miskatonic docks, was recently rocked when company founder and president Reinhart Laine was discovered murdered in his own office. Who could have wanted the wealthy tycoon dead? Were his political affiliations in the bitter race for Arkham’s next Mayor somehow a factor in his death? Or is the closely held secret to Reinhart Cigarettes’ distinctive green-smoking tobacco something that a rival company might be willing to kill to find out?

The Protagonists are engaged to get the bottom of this most baffling of mysteries.

This is the another in our "Miskatonic Mysteries" line of self-contained scenarios set in the fictional part of Massachusetts invented by Lovecraft for his evocative tales of cosmic horror.

Three Times the Mythos:To give the GM a range of different options, this scenario features three different possible Mythos backstories underlying the curious events portrayed. Choose whichever of the options appeals to the preferences of your individual gaming group, or re-run the scenario multiple times with different weird forces at play each time around.

What is Cthulhu Eternal?

Cthulhu Eternal is a multi-era, setting agnostic ruleset which aims to support inventive game designers who have original ideas for Lovecraftian roleplaying games or scenarios. It draws upon the long line of D100 games of Cthulhu-themed investigation, offering a beautifully streamlined and elegant set of mechanics to support a diverse range of gaming styles.
