A new version of my most popular 5e guide


I present a fast and straightforward system of converting 5e economics into a system that makes sense. A great tool to add a little realism and eliminate the need for everyone to walk around with a Bag of Holding.


Let's be honest: 5e is great, but the economy is dumb. Heroes walking around with 50,000 gp, which is equivalent to 1000 lb. To go shopping, you need a wheelbarrow. Forget-about-it. With the Silver System, your heroes won't need a bag of holding to go shopping. Also, do you know how long it would take to count 50,000 coins?


Do you want to buy a suit made of plate mail? Well, sir, you'll have to pay 150 silver coins for that. You a sword too? Could you give me three more silvers? I'll have to charge you 5 cents for this muffin I'm eating as a snack. You must be rich if you can buy my whole shop and everything in it. Let's say 500 gold. You must be the king if you have that much. Your majesty?

Still one mention of "wheel barrel" rather than "wheelbarrow" in the section 'Gem Market'. The inclusion of the small chart was helpful. The paper image backer looks WAY more pixelated than the neo21 version.

Thank you so much. I bought an AI to help me with the typos... and it was a flawed system. I moved to a new one, and it works much better. That guide had LOTS of issues in it! Typos are always an issue for me, but that was beyond the pale.

I tried a new paper on it.

Visually, I like the latest update (2022-August-02), but I am missing the conversion table it helps to create a more full description of the conversion between. Without it, I feel there's just something missing from the latest.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
