A Sci-Fi Western Roleplaying Game

Armageddon had come and gone. Now the Wild East stands. Play the roles of Katana Cowboys, Kung-Fu Nuns, Laser Prophets and Beast-Riding Witches. Explore a world inspired by Westerns, Samurai films and Wuxia movies.

The Game Master plays a Star God

Experience character progression as a game master. Create a star god and choose their role.  Choose new star god aspects as you rank up. Aspects grant you reactive abilities that are triggered by player actions. The star god is the party's silent member, their secret weapon.

"In our journeys through space we met the star gods, and brought them along back to Earth. Then a war of nuclear proportions scorched the planet. The star gods helped us rebuild, teaching us our lost history with the help of the good old movies. And so the Wild East was born."

Innovative Roles System

Choose a fighting style and a character archetype, then combine their names to form your role. With the Kung-Fu fighting style and Cowboy archetype your role would be a Kung-Fu Cowboy.

Redefining Divine Magic

Call upon divine magic by offering prayers. But don't be a suck-up, star gods don't care for suck-ups. Make demands instead of polite requests. Be brazen, pompous or flamboyant as you call on the star god for a miracle. Argue with the star god, question their tenets or mock them. Star gods love to be challenged.

Options for Playing with an Audience

Are you streaming your game to an audience? Consider choosing the Clan of Mischief star god role. Listen to your audience's input when you decide if your star god answers a prayer or uses an aspect. Your audience has no say in your decision. Their role is to peer pressure you to do their will, like the crowd of the ancient Colosseum. And like a Roman Emperor it's up to you to decide: Thumbs up, or thumbs down?

Looked interesting enough to chance buying it and after a quick glance through I am very glad I did. My group isn’t meeting for a bit so I won’t know if it plays as well as it looks like it will which holds me back from a review, but just for the creative setting idea and the look of the system at first glance, I would recommend a buy, and double recommend it if the author could add a discount for pdf buyers when the POD is ready. Great looking game that inspires ideas on the first read through.

It's great to hear appreciative words about the setting, so thank you! I thought your suggestion is excellent so I looked into it. I'll offer a discount for the print version to early PDF purchasers once I finish going through the process of setting up Print on Demand.

Doing a bit of solo play with the system works well. You have great fresh game here. Heck I would have bought into your idea as a series on television or a film, it’s so fun. I look forward to future expansions should you do an adventure or town setting. I’m considering combining 300 with Hallmark Christmas films as a town setting to run when I can get my group together. That should give buyers an idea of how the game inspires a fun setting.

Best,
Tom

Yes! I'm intending to set up a Print on Demand version, currently technical issues prevent me from it (I need to migrate the book from one software to another to meet PoD's production team's printing format standards). I'm hoping to solve the problem soon and get a PoD available as soon as I can.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
