Trophy Loom is a system-agnostic setting book for dark medieval fantasy roleplaying games, especially the games under the Trophy banner.

Unlike other rpg setting books you may be familiar with, you will not find detailed historical timelines or accurate city populations in Trophy Loom. Rather, this book consists mostly of random tables you can use to inspire you before or during a game session. These tables contain threads of detail that can be woven into an entire adventure, or can be stitched in to fill a gap when you need a name, monster, or location on short notice.

I have no idea whether this would be a great asset to -- or completely inappropriate for -- my campaigns. Presenting a setting through random tables is an interesting idea, but is it a setting that I would want to use? If it turned out that I didn't like the items which make up the random tables, I would have no use for Loom.

The videos tell me what Trophy Dark/Gold play is like (interesting, but not something I choose to explore at present) but give me no idea of what the "system agnostic" Loom setting would offer to a non-Trophy campaign.Accordingly, I am not persuaded to purchase it.

I do feel there's not enough information to decide buying the book. The line (Trophy) sounds interesting, there are some reviews around, a podcast and actual plays by the editor. Still, there's no flip trough or enough pages in the preview to get an idea of how it looks like. From the Trophy books it seems Loom is the least covered. And it is reported and especified that it is a setting book but still not a sample of how it is presented. It wouldn't hurt to show more of the books and of Loom in particular.

Your preview gives absolutely zero information on rules, character generation, resolving challenges (including combat), etc.

Is it possible to offer sample pages from deeper within the rule book, so that we can get a better idea of how the system works?

Thought the side bar mentions Forged in the Dark, the blurb (the description) says it is system agnostic. There are no rules, it is simply a setting for anyone to adapt to their preferred system.

Well, attempts to edit were a failure, so here is what I was trying to add:

I just checked the other two Trophy games and they do have character generation. This one, Loom, is not a game, it is a setting.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
