Any chance we could get an A5 or Digest size hard copy option? I have printed a couple of pages at this size and it looks good to me.... Same for the Settings book. I'd love to have to books in a more portable format.

A new entrant to the world of TTRPG here. I bought both the Settings and the Rules books. I see it says we need the Cepheus Engine to play. Having a look around, there are several Cepheus Engine offerings. Which one do I need?

Hi Doug, If you have the Hostile Rules, you have the rules you need to play! Don’t buy any Cepheus rule books! The system is based on and comes from the Cepheus Engine, but the setting and rules books are everything you need.

Hi, Paul.
I just received the Hostile Rules physical book. My first character is a Corporate Exec and it asks for a survival roll of Basic 3+.
I am not too well acquainted with Cepheus or Traveller, but I didn't see any of this sort. Neither in your Hostile setting book.
What does it equate to? What characteristic or skill should I use for such roll?

Hello Antonio, I don’t think I explained it in the book. By ‘basic’ it means no characteristic is used to add to the roll. Just roll 3+, it is a very safe career.,

Hi, some minor errors I noticed: pg 28 & 34 headings for "Random Creation" and "Design-Based Creation" are misaligned, also from pg 166-168 the headers for "Law Level", "Tech Level", "Trade Codes" and pg 173 "Determine Goods Available" aren't centered. On pg 63 misaligned items on the "Food & Travel Cost" table (also in the Setting book). The Stress Roll's TN on pg 226 is 10+, shouldn't it be 8+?

Example: An AV-105 jump-jet on the pad is hit by a HEAP grenade round (5D6 AP2) doing 19 points of damage, and the ‘AP’ designation means it ignores 10 points (or, in this case, all) of the jump jet’s armour. Referencing the Penetration table, we see that 19 points of damage will lower its Hull by 8 points, to zero, with the excess 3 points lowering its Structure to 2. The jump-jet is knocked out. It sustains two Component Hits; speed reduced by 20% and -1 DM on any control rolls.

I’m glad to see this. It’s a little confounding to piece together all the disparate and relevant Cepheus / Traveller rules to play Hostile. Having a definitive rule source is super welcome. For those of us that pulled the “early shift” and already own a lot of Hostile stuff, including the Hostile setting book, any chance for a discount? Looking forward to stressing my party out with some more “contact lost…” and “core reactor meltdown imminent…” moments. Thanks for all the hard work.

Hi, we estimate that 95% of the book's sales will go to people who already have the Setting book. It is aimed at those particular customers of Zozer Games. So discounting nearly every book doesn't sound viable - the book was in production on-and-off for almost a year and a half. Sorry Andy, of course the PDF is free if you decide to get the softback or hardback from Lulu...
