I wonder if it'll ever be explored how to more seamlessly adapt things together?

This book is a bit tricky. I was through the roof to see the Marshal was in it (oddly one of my favorite 3e classes), and there was a bang up effort to convert it to 5e. However, looking over everything it could do, I felt it was a little OP to allow in 5e games. Then I realized it's actually pretty on par to all the other classes in the book, but the weird place of the classes is they're just so much better than 5e ones, that you really can't mix and match stuff. It's either everyone makes characters from the 5E or A5E (RIP Artificer and a ton of subclasses unless you homebrew the hell out of it to make it work).

This extends similarly to the playable races. Having Cultures, Backgrounds that actually do something, and Destinies add amazing depth... But it's still a tad clunky where it goes to 5e or A5E, so 'bye' ALL the race options developed through 5e.

What I look for in a preview is the table of contents. Ideally, I'd also like to see the index (if there is one). Those two things go farther to give me a sense of what's in the book than the outtakes do.

I have a question about system mechanics. I didn't find the answer in book. Some armor has a weakness (like. piercing), what does it mean actually? Double damage from some types?

Are you using the playtest version of the book? In the final version the 'weakness' property ended up as 'flaw', described on page 325. You can update your copy of the book by redownloading it here at DTRPG.

I like the Level Up stuff I've read so far, but man am I slightly annoyed that I just got Trials and Treasures and Monstrous Menagerie as backerkit add ons for 20 gbp ~= 26 dollars each and see it here for 20 dollars each three days later.
I knew I was paying a bit of a premium to be an early adopter, but I didn't think it'd be that quick of a turn around.

These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
