Rimholm Dagbok - Middarmark Campaign Accessory

ADD TO WISHLIST >

The Rimholm Dagbok is a Torchbearer Middarmark campaign accessory.

The "journal" zooms into a whole region of the Middarmark, from the Sakki Downs to the Skyet Sea, with lore for dozens of adventure sites. The hub of this region is Rimholm, and from any direction your adventuring party travels, there are rewards and dangers everywhere they go.

Written from the first-person perspective of an unnamed dvergar adventurer, the Rimholm Dagbok chronicles the dwarf's arrival and misadventures in Rimholm. Learn as much about life in Rimholm as the Nidavellir, the deep kingdom and home of the dvergar. Rumors of curses and mad kings fill the taverns, and the dwarf author learns about the uncanny parallels between these two mighty kingdoms.

Written for players and GMs alike to provide rumors to explore and to reward your return to town, the Dagbok is not your typical campaign accessory. It is designed to appear as an "in-game" artifact that provides vivid details to bring your campaign to life. The Dagbok serves as a player's guide for roleplaying in the Middarmark and a GM campaign sandbox toolkit.

Hi there. I just purchased this product on your website, however, I noticed the region map of Rimfjord does not indicate where Rimholm is located? Am I missing something obvious? I have the included map of the city layout, which is great, but the region map lists everything but the actual city location. My impression was this should be marked somewhere? Thanks!

Hello,

Thanks for supporting the Sagas.

Yes, the regional map does not contain any names on it (except for the regions), but Rimholm is located by the Midterstebjerg Pass at the very top. Rimholm is the biggest of the settlements and is represented by the stave temple in the center of town. Midterstebjerg is the "sloping ridge that runs along Rimholm’s shore."

Fun fact: both maps are oriented with west at the top to represent sailing into the fjord from the sea. Also, the maps intentionally leave out roads and rivers too so that the GM can create them as needed or so that players can discover them.

Thanks for the quick follow-up! Ahhh, I see! Interestingly enough, the print version of the Dagbook does include a label for Rimholm on the map on the inside cover (I just received my copy in the mail!). Beautiful maps, but there must be an iteration of the full-sized map with this labeled? Now that I see the icon, I know where it is ;) Thanks again!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
