Vranitzky has long been an arrogant genius, a man of great passion and an even greater ego, bordering on the messiah complex. He was certain his art is the only thing that can give voice to wounds dealt to humanity by the Great War. He devoted all his time to creating expressionistic, grotesque paintings exaggerating the War’s catastrophes and looking for inspiration – drastic photos, tales, and other testimonies of the Great War...

The Mist Sower is an intense scenario for Call of Cthulhu 7th edition. It's designed to fill 2-3 hours of play with an emotional and unusual story that might change the investigators forever. Inside you'll find:

  • A plot centered around Thaddeus Vranitzky, a controversial painter who decided to try to heal World War One wounds and traumas with his art;
  • Custom rules designed to let the investigators face an eldritch entity in a duel of emotions, willpower and smarts;
  • Four pre-generated investigators, each with ties to Vranitzky and each other;
  • 14 pages of handouts - pictures, press clips, calling cards and much more - prepared both for print and for online play.

The Mist Sower is a supplement from the Zgrozy series. To find out more about Zgrozy visit our Facebook page (/ZgrozyEN) or see our other English releases. Further releases will follow soon.

In the purchase you'll find two versions of the scenario - one in high quality, the other one in average quality - as well as all handouts as separate image files.

“Zgrozy” is a slightly archaic Polish word for “Horrors” or “Terrors.” Following advice from English-speaking Cthulhu fans, we decided to keep the original title for foreign releases since it sounds suitably unspeakable and blasphemous to non-Polish ears. You'll find a file with the correct pronunciation of Zgrozy attached to the supplement!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
