Floria: The Verdant Way

In Floria: The Verdant Way, you play a Floria - a wizard of the mystic woods. Empowered by a magical plant that grows symbiotically from your body, you wield nature magic to preserve the balance between the endless woods and the tiny human settlements hiding in the shadows of the trees.

Gameplay in Floria takes place on a map representing the ever-changing paths through the woods. Players will move through hazards and different environments, collecting magical Herbs and attempting to resolve quests using a simple four attribute, 2D6 roll-under resolution system. At the end of the exploration phase a magical battle begins, and Floria's most unique system has a chance to shine.

On each character sheet is a Ley Vine Canvas. This represents the roots of the magical Herb growing within your body. By forming certain geometric patterns, these roots can give you magical abilities. In game terms, you 'spend' shapes to cast your magic spells. Spells may cost triangles, squares or five-point stars. You build shapes over the course of a game session by adding lines based on the Herbs you gather in your journey.

When you want to cast something in battle, you just fill in the appropriate shape on your Ley Vine Canvas to pay the cost. Damage is also dealt to the Canvas. By striking areas on your enemy's Canvas where their Ley Vines intersect or areas that are colored in for spell costs, you can carve away at their life points.

This unique system turns every battle into a colorful, artistic climax to your journeys.
