I recently purchased the POD of the Gamesmater's Guide and returned to purchase the POD of this title only to find no POD option available. Will it be returning? Is this due to the OGL controversy with WOTC? Really disappointed I can't finish purchasing the set.

This isn't something we did. They should be available still. I've sent a message to publisher services to sort out what happened. Sorry for the problem!

Hi there! First of all, I love the WoA-Books. Tons of lore, great artworks. I just noticed something that made me scratch my head: In the weapons list on p. 145, all spears and polearms are categorized as martial weapons, even our good ol' spear that is categorized as a simple weapon in the 5e Player's Handbook. Is this intentional? It would mean the simple-weapons-only-classes can't use spears in this setting. Made me wonder...

So if I have this right there are no Bards, Paladins,Monks,Sorcerers or Warlocks in this world if I'm using it as written?

All of those classes exist in Aetaltis. We just haven't released information about how they fit into the world yet. Future products will talk about each of these classes.

A fully realized new campaign setting for Dungeons & Dragons needs a holistic guidebook like this for players. To ground them in the setting and to provide them with all of the mechanics and details they'll need to get the most out of their Aetaltis campaign setting experience. This book, coupled with the Adventurers guide gives all of the information a solid role playing gamer needs to have intelligent, in-world backstories, rich character concepts grounded in the world with depth of detail and a well-rounded character ready to become a new legend in Aetaltis. Playing the Ogre-like Orog lineage or the exciting Sprite or Fairy lineage gains everything needed to be a fantastic and successful character with this great book. As a DM who runs Aetaltis, I recommend this book to be bought or digitally downloaded and read through and through to anyone interested in joining my campaign. It makes all the difference between mediocre character design, and GREAT character design.

The guide looks good, but it would be helpful if the PDF index was hyperlinked to make navigation easier. Also, the index appears to be numbered incorrectly. For example, it says Chapter 9, Magic and Spells starts on page 159, but it starts on page 162, per the actual numbers showing on the pages (and it is page 164 if you follow the PDF pagination in single page view).

Well that's a problem. Thank you for pointing this out! We'll take a look and see about releasing an update in the near future. Sorry for the trouble!

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
