Kingdoms of Africa is an expansion of the campaign world presented in the Pax Lexque Campaign Guide. The Pax Lexque campaign world is an alternate reality earth in which the history of our own world is co-mingled with common elements of a fantasy setting. This book may be used in conjunction with the Pax Lexque Campaign Guide or it may stand on its own.

This guide is meant as a sandbox environment. Sixteen nations of the continent of Africa are presented with their geography, lore and culture, providing an environment for characters to explore. Also included is the new character class, the Shaman.

Hello all,

Looks like an interesting supplement, but hoping for a little more clarification on two points:
i) How many of the Patrons are full write-ups (including tables & spells) vs "teaser" write-ups?
ii) Has any of the spell/patron content here been added to "Scientia Arcana?" (Which looks amazing, BTW.)

Of the patrons in Kingdoms of Africa, 13 are small descriptions (Ashantu, Balu, Berru, Isheya, Mesane, Nzei, Ogbon, Reku, Shenago, Shewa, Wikia, Yuma, Zolonu) and 5 (Dae, Gilitzera, Ija, Ilunga, Ubaste) are the full writeups with patron taint and spells.
None of the patrons or spells from this book are included in Scientia Arcana, but the shaman and associated spirits are in Scientia Arcana.

Absolutely shameless click bait. Don't waste your time watching this so-called youtube review. All Jimmy F does is read the description on this page, and then skim through the full-size preview. Thanks for nothing.

As stated in the intro to the video, this particular video series is a news program announcing what has recently been released. It serves a number of purposes: (1) a way to find new releases long after they've left the main page of the site (which is pretty quickly for most titles), (2) feedback to creators on how their products are perceived by a customer reviewing their catalog page + preview, (3) giving potential customers the opportunity to browse the site from Roku or Apple TV as opposed to their PC, and of course (4) announcing the releases to an audience that enjoys D&D books.

The channel also features full reviews of individual books as separate videos. Obviously, it doesn't cover every release, but there are new titles being profiled frequently.

We're sorry you didn't find the video enjoyable, but there are plenty of people who do based on the number of comments, likes, and views each week. You have to remember than many of these titles receive little to no promotion,...See more

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
