Is any Recovery clubhouse complete without an old-timey "window shade" poster hanging on the wall? We think not.

This is a 12x18-inch poster, printed on premium poster paper. (As with all DriveThruRPG posters, it's folded once for shipment.)

The Twelve Traditions of Circle & Triangle are:

0. Tradition Zero—There are no rules! Fair play and decency are enough.

1. It's your game, literally. This game is a Free Cultural Work, within the Creative Commons.

2. Any and all scenes in Circle & Triangle could be played using only diceless storytelling—in fact, this Freeform Diceless Version of play is the foundational format.

3. Yet if you want to roll dice in a scene, there's the Resolution Roll. Twelve-sided dice are customary but not required. (There are other ways of playing besides this D12 Version.”)

4. There are two types of Challenges: Obstacles and Scuffles. Obstacles are resolved in one roll.

5. Boons add +1 to the roll. (There are other ways of playing which involve no math.)

6. You usually gain an Adversity Token whenever you lose a Resolution Roll—as long as it's fraught with consequence. You can spend the Token as a Boon, or to improve your Character in other ways.

7. Each Character is gifted with a Higher-Powered Artifact. Using the Artifact lets the player roll two dice and take the highest. (If you're playing a Mathless Version,” then Artifacts grant two Dice Steps.)

8. You can try again (and again and again and again) by making a Persistent Effort. This could end in Self-Sacrifice.

9. Two or more Characters can Help each other by combining their Resolution Rolls.

10. Scuffles are resolved through a series of Resolution Rolls. Somebody loses an Asset during each Round—the Asset is rendered temporarily Powerless.

11. The Escalator keeps things moving.

12. Characters Fall…and Characters Recover.

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.
Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
