What is the difference between the 0422 PDF and the open dis PDF? I see one is about 70 pages longer but the page numbers don't line up so it's difficult to parse exactly what's different.

The font is different. the open dis PDF is using the Open Disability font, which many have said is much easier to read for those with visual impairments or dyslexia.

Bought this book several days ago and a few things have made me raise an eyebrow:

Noticed there is no ROF for ranged weapons. Debating on using the rates from AD&D 1E but not sure if ROF was intentionally omitted or if it was an oversight.

Having Fey and Fairie as separate heritage traits seems redundant and I’m trying to figure out how to explain the separation to my players.

Many, many of the spells that have a Material component do not say what the component is in the spell description.

Lastly, the Subterranean ancestry grants Darkvision even though I don’t see any mention of Darkvision elsewhere in the book. Guessing that should have been changed to Infravision.

hey, I really like chromatic dungeons but I run most of my games online, are there any plans for a roll20 sheet or any vtt support?

Really enjoying my read through of this, seems like an excellent modernization of classic D&D. One issue: gnomes get 5% magic resistance, which has a reference to the How to Play section, but the actual mechanics for magic resistance aren't there. It is described in the Bestiary section though.

Hi. I finally bought all three books and it looks like a very nice game!
I did however notice a couple of small errors.
1) On page 21, it says, "To be frank, there is no justifiable reason why there where would be those two mixed ancestries but no other mixed ancestry." Change to: "why there where would be" to "why there would be"
2) On page 328, the index refers to 3 kinds of men (Man, bandit; Man, berserker; Man, commoner). For this game, they should be listed as "Human, bandit; Human, berserker; Human, commoner."
3) Also, the unarmed weapon damage is listed for only a few Humanoids. I think 5E has a rule of 1 damage + Constitution Bonus - which I might go with for Humans. But... the Kobold has 1d4 and others others have their non-weapon damage listed, but not humans. What is the rule for that in Chromatic Dungeons? There are grapple rules, but what about a punch? At least by listing it in the Monster encounters, the DM might have something to...See more

Basic Fantasy does 1d3 for unarmed punching, and something like 1d4 for a kick, but a kick has a negative to hit....

Yes. Just waiting on a final round of editing/errata. PDF buyers will get a link for the updated version right away, since those are easily replaceable at no additional cost. Replacing books is much harder, and thus it was decided to wait on print copies until the final round was completed. Note, none of the rules are changing, and the game is completely playable in its current form. Just a few minor grammar errors and things like that discovered after it was sent off to fix. I am hoping to have this done by the end of the year, but of course it depends on how fast the editors get back. Sadly, that's the case with every RPG book---there are always minor clarifications and errata that were done as when you get a very large player base looking at it as opposed to a small group prior to publication, you always find additional minor things here and there.

Unfortunately, since the file is a zip file (pdf and RTF versions), the software doesn't allow a preview. You can see plenty of preview images at www.izegrimcreations.com

Scanned image
These products were created by scanning an original printed edition. Most older books are in scanned image format because original digital layout files never existed or were no longer available from the publisher.

For PDF download editions, each page has been run through Optical Character Recognition (OCR) software to attempt to decipher the printed text. The result of this OCR process is placed invisibly behind the picture of each scanned page, to allow for text searching. However, any text in a given book set on a graphical background or in handwritten fonts would most likely not be picked up by the OCR software, and is therefore not searchable. Also, a few larger books may be resampled to fit into the system, and may not have this searchable text background.

For printed books, we have performed high-resolution scans of an original hardcopy of the book. We essentially digitally re-master the book. Unfortunately, the resulting quality of these books is not as high. It's the problem of making a copy of a copy. The text is fine for reading, but illustration work starts to run dark, pixellating and/or losing shades of grey. Moiré patterns may develop in photos. We mark clearly which print titles come from scanned image books so that you can make an informed purchase decision about the quality of what you will receive.

Original electronic format
These ebooks were created from the original electronic layout files, and therefore are fully text searchable. Also, their file size tends to be smaller than scanned image books. Most newer books are in the original electronic format. Both download and print editions of such books should be high quality.
