LokDown is an action-packed tabletop role-playing game built using the same ruleset as the amazing Carbyne Jungle, the Tri-Forge Engine. It's a stand-alone game, but can be played with all characters from Carbyne Jungle.

What kind of setting is LokDown?

LokDown is an Anime-Inspired Sci-Fantasy setting, meaning it has elements of Science Fiction, Fantasy, and a whole lot of goodies drawn straight from some of your favorite Anime/Manga series. We choose Sci-Fantasy because it has the most options. With a Sci-Fantasy setting, there is no limit on what you can create or who you can be.

At the same time, we know many players prefer a specific era or tech level to their games, so LokDown will also come with tools for running games in Classic Fantasy, Modern, or Straight Sci-Fi (no magic) settings. On top of that, we have optional rulesets for tables that want to emphasize a Shonen, Mecha, Cyberpunk Noir, or Cosmic Horror feel to their game.

Short Version: You can run whatever you want, and we will give you the tools to make it fun.

LokDown takes place in the Reknown-Galaxy, and is part of the Carbyne Jungle universe. Unlike most expansions however, LokDown is designed to also work as a Stand-Alone game. So if you are a fan of Carbyne Jungle, you can use all of these options with your current campaigns. If Carbyne Jungle is new to you, no worries. You can enjoy all of LokDown without needing any other book or materials.

LokDown is built on the Tri-Forge Engine, the same game system as Carbyne Jungle, an exciting action filled experience with customizable rulesets, and incredibly flexible advancement. With the Tri-Forge Engine, you can customize the rules to fit your table and use the simplified ruleset of Flip&Fight to introduce new players, all without slowing down your game.

Lokdown is designed to be a stand-alone game, but it can also work with Carbyne Jungle. So, you can use your LokDown characters in your Carbyne Jungle campaigns or Vice Versa.

I love what I am seeing, here are a few things that should be noted in updates or new editions/expansion content: 1. The font is awfully small, awkward (it doesn't stick out in a positive way, it blends together) and dense in some areas of the preview (which I am assuming is relative to the final product). 2. The light blue font on the example pages is difficult to parse due to the lightness of the background element. Once again, I LOVE what I am seeing, but I need a book that doesn't strain my eyes, I have never needed eye glasses, I am still young and I believe in this book's promise and capabilities, it is going in my wishlist.

So, here's what we did. We went through and added an easy to read version. We removed the background texture from the pages, darkened and upped the contrast in the sample characters, and we also darkened the blue hyperlink color just in case. The Easy to read PDF is included with the digital copy, along with a fillable character sheet and two rules cheatsheets. So when you grab the regular copy, you get both.

Here's a link to a 25 page preview of the easy to read version. DTRPG only has a preview of one file, so we can't show it and the standard file. We hope it helps, and thanks for the feedback.

Excellent! After seeing this document and listening to Zak Meow... I can see the connection between the mediums... fast-paced, unique characters, break-neck action narrative... this would be a great game to make a "historical events in-universe" Netflix series, this way people would be caught up on the lore, and possibly get some of this sick music... Some of it reminds me of Techno Castlevania!
